Helen feels like the immediacy of an email makes it more obvious that it's late.
FWIW, I have never sent a paper thank you-- only an email. It might be different in nursing.

I only overdress to work (which reminds me, it's probably corset time again--I wonder if the overbust still fits...) since I don't really go anywhere else, but I do still enjoy it. And by overdress I mean sideways. It's not like I'd ever wear a suit.

Sending a paper thank-you maybe gives plausible deniability that it just took a long time to get there. They were supposed to be deciding "early this week"? An email could both thank them and check in on the timeline, I guess.
