The more common Comments have become, the lower my estimation of the human race.
Me too. I generally come out of a comments section thinking that people are selfish, petty, small-minded, and just plain mean.

Off-topic discussion. Wanna talk about corsets, pandas, duct tape, or physics? This is the place. Detailed discussion of any current-season TV must be whitefonted.

Also stupid and writing like chimps.
The comments on the NYT can actually be enlightening!
Of course, they are moderated.
My local paper is a classic cesspit. Soooo many racists.

Same for the Guardian UK. Hell, AVClub has some great comments.
Newspaper comments seem to be particularly bad. There's a weird dynamic on SF Gate where the stories are all about life in San Francisco and the comments are all right wing conservatives from the suburbs.

And how every single person in Oakland is scum and deserves death immediately.
People really need to stop questioning the overall rationale of the big project I've been working on for weeks. It's due Thursday! It's too late! Give me specific ideas of what to do, or stay out of it!
OK, I'm done.
Tonight I really need to try and list some large items for sale. So far all I've managed to list is books.
Not as cute as panda cam, but baby peregrine falcons by my office: [link]
I got a container of coconut milk kefir at Whole Foods today. It's really good. I think I'm going to start using it in smoothies. (And, of course, I just saw a blog post about how to make it from coconut milk and kefir grains, which would probably be healthier than the commercial kind that has stabilizers added, but this is healthy enough for now. Sometime when I have actual free time and free space in my kitchen for it to ferment, then I'll make it homemade.)
