Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

Sometimes it seems like FLYING is asking for a problem.

Word.

Sometimes I think I might just move up to Vermont, open a bookstore or a vegan restaurant. Adam Schlesinger, z''l

In regard to parenting, did anyone else see this?

Huh. Dietary things are definitely not a reason to prevent someone from being a foster parent. I know at least two vegan foster parents -- one was told that, if she wouldn't serve meat in her house, then she would either get kids who were already vegan (probably pretty rare) or babies who aren't old enough to eat meat yet anyway.

I looked up some more info on that woman whose foster parent application was denied. It looks like she was denied by a private agency that places children, not by the state itself, and the state is investigating it now.

All sorrows can be borne if you put them into a story. Tell me a story.

Using the no-pork rule as a reason is very strange. I would be more concerned by the fact that she's a 26-year-old mother of five. How could she have time and energy for foster-kids?

Back tattoos of the mother is that you are absolutely right - Ame

26 year old mother of 5, living with a man she is not legally married to. I don't recall if the article said if he was the father or not. But "they are married in the eyes of her religion".

On one hand - whatever. But if you are going to have an issue with her application, pork shouldn't be it. Or then deny all Orthodox Jewish applicants.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Yeah, Comments has started to translate in my head to "Why are there so many fucking assholes?"

That's my instinctive reaction now.

The more common Comments have become, the lower my estimation of the human race. Just in the very banal ways. "Huh, more people are assholes than I thought. Really a lot."

I only knew about the aggressive assholes before which was, what?, 10%? At the outside between 15 and 20%. Now, it looks more like assholery hovers closer to 35-40%.

Fandom means never having to say "But where would I wear that?"

Timelies all!

Bleah, tired. G had to get up at stupid o'clock to get to work by 7.

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

The more common Comments have become, the lower my estimation of the human race.

Me too. I generally come out of a comments section thinking that people are selfish, petty, small-minded, and just plain mean.
