Back tattoos of the mother is that you are absolutely right - Ame

Don't know if anyone here recalls me talking about my assistant, L, from my old position. She had cancer and went through multiple chemo treatments. She worked through most of them. I got notice that she is currently in the hospital and being discharged into hospice care today.

I worked with her for over 13 years, at least half of that working very closely with her. I had only ever met her husband once and he passed away 5 years ago. I have heard about her grown kids, but have never met them. Do I send a card? I'm not sure what the appropriate thing to do is. I haven't seen or talked with her since I moved to Colorado.

I’m responsible for my own happiness? I can’t even be responsible for my own breakfast! (Bojack Horseman)

Stressy stresscakes:

Tom sent an email to the person he's been dealing with that he'd be interested in discussing the issues of PTO a little further- very low key non-aggressive note. Didn't hear anything back that afternoon, which I was hoping meant they were trying to figure out some sort of offer. But we haven't heard anything yet today, and Tom is very hesitant to call.

See, this is why he should've called, Nora! Email is stresscakes.

Totally remember your assistant, Suzi. How awful. Flowers?

oh, Suzi, a most unfortunate crosspost. I am sorry to hear about L and I do remember you talking about her and her cancer. I'm so sorry.

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

I think calling is stresscakes too, though. But deep breaths, Nora -- people involved in hiring decisions never seem like they move fast enough for those who are being hired.

I think so. I'm sure she'd be happy to hear from you even if it's been a while.

I know! But he needs to do what he is comfortable with. Ugh.

Life moves pretty fast. You don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.

I wouldn't worry about it, Nora. These kinds of requests need to go to the right people to sign off on, and that can take a few days. I know is our pretty small company, it can take a week or so for everyone to sign off on a simple hiring matter like this one.

I know waiting is stressful, but I would give them a week from when the request was made to recontact them.
