Greece's financial crisis threatens to take down all of Western civilization - a civilization they themselves founded. A rather tragic irony - which is something they also invented. - Jon Stewart

Romeo Void also famous for the story that the size of their singer led to their downfall -- either the label pushed her to lose weight or for her to get fired or something, all deriving from the image focus of MTV.

Debora Iyall is is badass to this day. She never stopped making art. She's a teacher and and activist. If her latest project blew up that would be fantastic, but she'll rock on regardless. [link]

My old MySpace account is stripped down to pretty much just musicians. I've been fond of her page for a while [link]

Say what, Brenda?? Is this the brother who lives in Russia? Does he still live there?

My nails have been blue all week, but I just added green glitter tips.

That's awesome!

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Interesting song. I don't think they made it across the pond to Britain, really. I was all Brit!Pop and R&B at the time.

Brenda, were you expecting this, even a little?

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

Craziness, brenda!

Well, they've been together for ages, so that part's not so surprising. But to be honest I kind of figured they'd never really get around to it, unless she got knocked up.

Still, crazy!

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

Brenda, that's quite an announcement!

So my oven is well and truly fucked - I have to turn it to 500 to get any heat at all, and then it just vacillates between 250 and 400. Forget about broiling.

So I'm looking for a new or new-to-me range, and one feature I covet is having the broiler element on the top of the oven, rather than in a drawer beneath. Is there any way to get this without shelling out for a convention oven, and if so how can I tell if an oven has the broiler on the top or the bottom? It doesn't seem to be a listed feature on sears.com.

Cool!

I love my outfit today. It makes me want to run and jump and shoot and kick. Short skirt, workmanlike boots, and the red/pink/yellow/black polka dot-plaid (it works, honest) turtleneck.
