"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Romeo Void, San Francisco band. Credit the sax player, Benjamin Bossi for that solo. I remember dancing to that song in a club in Columbus, OH in 1982 or so. I also remember a scene set to that song with Aidan Quinn dancing around with punkish fervor. Some teen bad boy drama thing when he was young enough to be a teen bad boy.

Because books.

Here's the link, ita. Wow, I can't believe I can't remember this video now. So very New Wave.

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

Which leads to me say that I've had that lyric "I might like you better if we slept together" in my head all. damn. day. And I have no idea why.

From watching Dean/Castiel last night?

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Ahhh, here it is Aidan Quinn in Reckless dancing to Romeo Void. Also starring Darryl Hannah, plus bonus Adam Baldwin. 1984!

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

From watching Dean/Castiel last night?

Bah! They've so totally already been there. Hello.

I might like you better if we slept together again.

Thanks, Amy. Bookmarked for home.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

For me, "Never Say Never" is inexorably linked to the Rocky Rococos I worked at in Madison in 1985, as that song was hugely popular with the employees. Also "Add It Up" by the Violent Femmes, with the also immortal line, "Why can't I get just one fuck?" Whenever we played that song at the restaurant (which was all the time), all us employees cleared our throats loudly during the naughty words....

Because books.

That song was from my brief Yaz, Human League, Depeche Mode period. Which my ex-boyfriend hated -- he worshipped at the altar of The Who and thought I had lost my mind.

I still like a bunch of Yaz songs, though. Alison Moyet has an awesome voice.

Our wings are not tired.

Beth, I am in the middle of cleaning out my garage and have a cage you guys can have. It was originally for Cayenne, so it's not cat-sized. But your new cat would find it a well spaced condo, I think. Let me know, because I've got it out to deliver to Goodwill.
