But what happens is you turn from cold to warmer to hot...and then it stops (water stops, I mean). And then if you keep turning, the water starts again and you get hot to warm to lukewarm, as you keep turning. Is this in any way normal, or does it seem like a bizarro plumbing issue that should be fixed before I buy the house??
We have a knob like that in one of the bathrooms. There's something wrong with the mechanism in the wall (what do you call that part that controls the flow of water into the bath? the deflector, maybe?) that would be expensive to fix. The knob is supposed to have a part on it to prevent overturning and it's not there. There's nothing wrong with the as-is situation other than how annoying it is, though. And apparently there's no leak in the walls.
Good luck with the house!
I dunno - I don't think Douchebag Cat is that much of a Douchebag....
He needs a straw fedora to really sell it.
Douchebag cat is CUTE!
tonight: go to second opening night and opening night party (we are doing 2 shows at once) unless I get too tired and go home
Saturday & Sunday: clean the wreck that is my apartment after tech week and figure out how to deal with the fact that I forgot to send my census in, and have no idea where it is.
Oh Penguin, You So Funny!!!
Cute photo of a small child laughing at a penguin.

Weekend: It's the end of Emmett's spring break so he's on the couch playing with Tom's ex-DS. We just watched Fantastic Mr. Fox which is still fantastic. (Emmett's review: "You know what this movie is? It's charming. That's exactly the right word for it.")
EM has been recovering from her surgery so her sister was out to take care of her, and she wanted Emmett around while she was here. The upshot is that our schedule has been all off kilter and we haven't had Emmett over much.
So this morning we walked Matilda to school which was fun. It's gorgeous out here today.
Unfortunately, JZ got food poisoning from something she ate at her office party yesterday. She was up all night with the trots and now she's crashed in the bedroom.
This afternoon I've got to drive Emmett over to the East Bay for math tutoring. (It's usually on Monday so yet another blip of scheduling.) Tomorrow morning he's got a baseball game followed by a practice (with the tournament team). I'll watch the game and then he's with his mom for the rest of the weekend.
So, the weekend is open after Emmett's game. We have to get the car seat (also a Buffista present, if you all remember) into the new car, and JZ will take Matilda for her first ride over to church on Sunday.
Monday I've got to finish the car title transfer and local parking sticker bureaucracy stuff, and start writing the new liner notes.
Good job on the new car, flea!
Cash, I didn't recognize that visual clue!
