"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Weekend: It's the end of Emmett's spring break so he's on the couch playing with Tom's ex-DS. We just watched Fantastic Mr. Fox which is still fantastic. (Emmett's review: "You know what this movie is? It's charming. That's exactly the right word for it.")

EM has been recovering from her surgery so her sister was out to take care of her, and she wanted Emmett around while she was here. The upshot is that our schedule has been all off kilter and we haven't had Emmett over much.

So this morning we walked Matilda to school which was fun. It's gorgeous out here today.

Unfortunately, JZ got food poisoning from something she ate at her office party yesterday. She was up all night with the trots and now she's crashed in the bedroom.

This afternoon I've got to drive Emmett over to the East Bay for math tutoring. (It's usually on Monday so yet another blip of scheduling.) Tomorrow morning he's got a baseball game followed by a practice (with the tournament team). I'll watch the game and then he's with his mom for the rest of the weekend.

So, the weekend is open after Emmett's game. We have to get the car seat (also a Buffista present, if you all remember) into the new car, and JZ will take Matilda for her first ride over to church on Sunday.

Monday I've got to finish the car title transfer and local parking sticker bureaucracy stuff, and start writing the new liner notes.

Good job on the new car, flea!

Cash, I didn't recognize that visual clue!

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

You guys have to check out this guy's bad high school picture from today's Ellen show

It looks somewhat... aerodynamic.

The more I learn, the more I realize how little I know.

The rumors I heard are true. Wifi in flight internet access works. Yay!

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

Today is crawling, and I just noticed there's a hole in my sweater.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

I just watched some excellent Julia Sugarbaker clips here: [link] It reminds me how surprised I was at Dixie Carter's personality and manner, but now, all these years later, I had forgotten how kickass Julia was!

"This bar smells like kerosene and stripper tears."

Oh my. From the baby faces site. This is what gender stereotyping can do to your kid. [link]

I love that clip. The dad just kills it for me at the end.
