Stranded at an airport but need to run Norway? There's an app for that.
Norway's Stranded Prime Minister Uses iPad To Govern From U.S.
An enormous volcanic ash cloud has shut down air travel in Europe, canceling flights and stranding Europe-bound passengers around the world.
But thanks to the iPad, stranded Norwegian Prime Minister Jens Stoltenberg hasn't had any trouble.
Stoltenberg, who traveled from Oslo to the U.S. to participate in President Obama's nuclear summit, is now stuck in New York City. Stoltenberg's press secretary told CNN that the prime minister has been running his government from Apple's tablet.
A photo of Stoltenberg on the Norwegian Government's official Flickr account shows the prime minister and his iPad under the (translated) title "The prime minister is working at the airport."
National Pickle Week kicks off
A very odd photo. They don't make bras like they used to.
heh ... years ago I worked for a PR firm and one of the clients was involved with pickles (trade association or something). As a result, one of our staffers ended up standing on a street corner clutching a thee- or four-foot-long plastic pickle. And trying to catch a cab.
It's Friday, so you guys need to talk more.
Go Prime Minister of Norway! Love it.
I just got back from an hour in the County Corthouse doing a deed trace on my property. It was SO MUCH DORKY RESEARCHER/LIBRARIAN FUN I cannot even tell you, people.
Here's an activity to do! If you're on the twitter. Tweet "@SamsClub help @girls_inc win $1million! #Sams4GirlsInc" Girls Inc. is in 2nd place in this Sam's Club contest currently, which means $500K versus $250K for third place, but 1st place would be awesome!!
I think Groupon helped me figure out what I am doing for my birthday this year, or maybe just the next time I need to get out of town.

Here's one of the pieces I will be singing this weekend:

OK, maybe y'all know from weirdo plumbing:
House I'm buying, in the one bathroom, to turn on the water you have one knob only, turning from cold to hot. But what happens is you turn from cold to warmer to hot...and then it stops (water stops, I mean). And then if you keep turning, the water starts again and you get hot to warm to lukewarm, as you keep turning. Is this in any way normal, or does it seem like a bizarro plumbing issue that should be fixed before I buy the house?? There was a plumber who came out, but I think he misunderstood the problem (we said it didn't control the mix of hot and cold, because the first time we turned it on, it went cold, off, hot, and when he tried it, it worked, so...it works!)
