I’m responsible for my own happiness? I can’t even be responsible for my own breakfast! (Bojack Horseman)

I guess that just leaves it to them to know that they offered less than he was looking for.

Oh, they know. They had him throw out the first numbers.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

That's what I meant -- they know, so you don't have to say it.

Cereal:

meara, he has a phone number he was called on by both dudes, conference call style, like from caller ID on his phone. Should he just try that number or continue to go through the Operations Manager since he hasn't been given the others' phone numbers?

He knows their names, right, Nora? Look up the main number for the company and ask for one of them!

Trust my rage

If it were me in Toms shoes I would say something like - I'm very interested in this position which is why I'm willing to consider an offer that is X less than my current salary. However, in order to maintain my current standard of living, I would like X amount of PTO.

I guess then i would reiterate that you want the job but you need to make sure you wont be going backwards in terms of SoL.
