Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Jesse: this one's not bad: [link] It's not an especially low back, but it's lower than usual.

Wow, that is so exactly what I want! Too bad it's $150.

We just landed!

YAY!!!

Despite the rumors, I do not have an ironic moustache, nor do I fit into skinny jeans.

But do you have a mustache tattooed on your finger??

Can I just say, I don't understand how people don't think that joke tattoos are the worst possible idea? How long are you going to care about that joke? Forever??? Yeah, thought not.

Woof, am I mad at our neighbors. We share part of the driveway, and once upon a time there was a catch basin in the driveway that drained the drive of run-off. The neighbors hated the catch basin and wanted to remove it, they proposed to my husband that it be removed and some re-grading done - he agreed (his mistake, I noted immediately). I immediately pointed out that we'd end up with a lot more water on our side (downhill) and the neighbors and their contractor told me it would be fine - I never agreed with them, and, indeed, we ended up with a constantly running sump pump. We brought our own contractor out, he proposed a fix (another catch basin, just on our side this time) and the neighbor was there when he came out to the house to look at the property and talk about his proposal. We eventually gave them notice that the work was going to be done, and we wanted them to pay half (we'd agreed to pay half of the above work). They threw up all sorts of barriers and told us they didn't approve of what we wanted to do (all on our property). We had the work done, the sump pump is finally at rest, and they just wrote a long email about how disappointed they are in our behavior because we were so disingenuous because we only pretended to take their views into consideration and had the work done despite their objections. They refuse to pay any of our costs and want their half for the work they arranged for.

Fucktards.

Because books.

How do they have any say if it's on your property, Sparky?

ARGH! My idiot husband had our car towed to WINDER on Saturday. Winder is 15 miles from here. He somehow thought he was having it towed to the dealership in town, despite the fact that Winder is in another area code, the tow truck driver has to ask how to get to Athens, and the tow truck driver mentioned going past the Mall (our Ford dealership is closer than that.) I guess being stressed by dying cars makes you into an idiot.

And then he calls me at work to ask what to do about it and how he's going to get to work today, since he can't take a courtesy van out to a dealership in Winder to rent a car. I don't fucking know! Fix your idiot problem! I am the one who worked until 10pm, walked home, and got up and walked into work for 8am today! While you have been sitting around watching TV!

Okay, vent off.

Fay, all the best to you & your family.

I don't think they do. They think they do because we asked them to split the cost.

I do think that my DH's email to them telling them the work was happening could have more clear - that we weren't asking their opinion, but he was trying to be overly nice. But their answer was two pages long with demands to see diagrams, etc.

I haven't been trusted to communicate on this matter with them for months. Ever since their contractor friend called me "little lady" and told me he knew what he was doing when I told him the swale he proposed wasn't going to work.

Well the house looks good, but I forgot to clean out the cat boxes. Mac refused to do even one little thing to help this morning and I read him the riot act, but calmly. I hope we get an early offer in this process because maintaining the place for showing is going to be really exhausting.

YAY for everyone finally getting on planes and safely back home.

Good thoughts to Fay and family.

I've missed a million birthdays the past month, so belated good wishes to all.

I am sad I will miss scrappy on tv, someone should tape it for us cable-less people.

oh and I found my new house key with the pink monkey. YAY!

The monday-ness of today for me is that I have no childcare, so I will be taking lunch at 2, to go pick up mac and bring him back to my office with me.
