Today I gotta work out, go to Songkran for some mango sticky rice, fix a dresser with some l-brackets, and go to bed early for a 10K tomorrow. None of this has started yet, although the cats have gotten busy chattering at a bird that seems to be taking up residence on the roof.

mango sticky rice
Guh. WANT. We're still feeding the dog rice for his tummy, and we ran out of cheap rice last night, so we made him Jasmine rice. I ate some of it, and it immediately sparked a craving for mango sticky rice. I might have to go get some from the cheap-but-excellent Thai place.
It's Bob's favorite thing, but our Thai place won't make it until mangos are in season.
I've never had mango sticky rice, and I'm pretty sure it's not on the menu at any of the Thai restaurants in town. But I love mango and sticky rice and I'm sure I would love them together.

If they had mango in season and there was any kind of mango items on the menu, I bet they'd make it for you.
I had some yummy mango sticky rice in Boston. Good old Chilli Duck.
OMG!!! I am an idiot. I decided to make brownies and decided to try a new recipe which was supermoist. I mix it up and I put in the scant 1/2 cup of flour the recipe calls for from the clear plastic bag of flour I had from the bulk store. It's almost empty, so I thought I'd use that flour up before the stuff in the storage jar. The batter is in the oven and after only five minutes I smell burning.
I open the oven and my brownie mix has puffed up like a souffle and overflowed the pan. It's all over the oven.
It seems the bag of a little bit of flour was actually baking powder! And I had even wrote that it was baking powder on the bag. God!
I think I have a stress zit.

Oh man.
I realized in the middle of making soup that I didn't have the right spices. I ran out of cumin, apparently. Why didn't I buy more?? The recipe called for cumin, tumeric, and cayenne, so I just put in chili powder, and am hoping for the best. I am not sure this is going to be good.
Huh, so I just made up a fake car to get an online quote from Progressive and insuring even a really cheap car in Brooklyn would be almost $2000/year. I don't think I do enough driving for that.
(OTOH, we qualify for USAA insurance, so we may be able to get a lower rate through them.)
