If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

Here in SF, hybrids are the cheapest. They can be as low as $7.

Huh. In Chicago, a hybrid tends to be a buck or two more than an economy, and a minivan or baby SUV another buck or two more than that. Either way, it's not a huge difference.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

Check out this cool (though cat-related) animated .gif: Rage Cat Does Not Approve

I've seen that in my own home.

We won’t stop until everyone is gay.

You know, I knew exactly what BOB image y'all were talking about without looking. And then I went and read the article and it still freaked me out. I was babysitting in a house across the street during the episode and was so freaked out I tried to get my mom to come over during commercials. She refused. Didn't help that I could hear an ominous repetitive thumping, which I finally identified as bass from a party down the street.

Shit, more drips once rain started up and it isn't from the floors. Think I'll be buying some roofing tar and sealing the balcony doorjam and seams this weekend.

Hrm, laying out a plastic bag near the hinge side of the door may have reduced the leak to nil. Hrm.

I'm going to have water damage nightmares tonight. Unless I am lucky and dream of the cats chasing flower petals on the deck as they were this evening. With the wind, it was a practical flurry, and Devi, well, she's goddamn 13 and you wouldn't know it (holy fuck, how can my bitchbaby be that old?) She and Loki were having a high time of it.

Answer to David's long-ago question:

I'm eager for the release of the next Temeraire novel, and Karen Healy's Guardian of the Dead. Oh, and the movie versions of Eagle of the Ninth and Tomorrow When the War Began, both of which will probably make me grind my teeth because they won't be as awesome as the novels were. But that's what happens with adaptations.

In other news, I begin to believe there are few cultural critics around right now who are better than Jay Smooth:

Why I'm rooting for Sarah Palin.

If I were the baby-having type, I would totally have Jay Smooth's babies. Not that he would want to have babies with a grey-haired bureaucratic on the other side of the country. But honestly. He's awesome.

ps -- watch the cat.

Oh, how I love Jay Smooth. Everyone should go to nildoctrine.com and look at his vlog. It's hilarious and intelligent.
