I'm in a car with Perkins and Plei. You may all now envy me.

Off-topic discussion. Wanna talk about corsets, pandas, duct tape, or physics? This is the place. Detailed discussion of any current-season TV must be whitefonted.
Lovely write-up by Edward Copeland (with spoilers, for the uninitiated): [link]
That is a nice write-up, but one of the photos (of Bob, natch) is an image that freaked me the hell out at the time. I was living in a 3 level duplex next to a wooded area with 2 roommates. Usually we'd watch the show together but I was home alone that night. Afterwards, not only did I check the lock on the front door, I went downstairs to lock the garage door, I locked the door to the garage, locked and blocked the sliding glass door to the back porch, double checked the front door and for the only time in my life, locked my bedroom door. I knew it was ridiculous, but gnaaaa. Freaky.
It was 20 years ago today... that Twin Peaks premiered.
At the time, I was amazed that both Matt Groening and David Lynch had been given prime-time TV shows.
At the time, I was living on a commune and had no tv. Missing the Simpsons was more traumatic for me though.

Man, I loved Twin Peaks. I need to NetFlix the first season soon. It got a little too ... too after that.
Very envious.
Suzi, I can't tell if you're green with envy, or just celebrating the A's win!
That article really nailed it about the look of the show. Nothing else on TV looked that good. I was hooked from the opening credits and I only watched the pilot because my roommate wanted to. The previews hadn't piqued my interest at all.
I didn't realize the extent of security camera coverage in Chicago. Or rather that so many systems were linked. [link]
In less than a decade and with little opposition, the city has linked thousands of cameras — on street poles and skyscrapers, aboard buses and in train tunnels — in a network covering most of the city. Officials can watch video live at a sprawling emergency command center, police stations and even some squad cars.
msbelle, wow. Good progress, but how painful. Good luck and strength to both of you, getting through this part of your lives together.
Perkins, that's the tire pressure warning light, as I learned a few months after I got my shiny new car.
electrolytes for Liese's SO!
Java, green IS my favorite color. And I'm very happy the A's have won their first series. But I would love to be in a car with Plei, Perkins, and Jilli.
