“Not dead yet!”

Make sure she's not as dorky as these guys.

She's twelve, adorable, and very much her own person. Besides, who's to say what's dorky? In Jacksonville, wearing a pair of kitty ears just because you feel like it and want to express your individuality would have been cause for major torment from her peers. Here, it won't garner a second glance. I'm certainly not going to dampen her enthusiasm.

Sorry if I'm getting on a soapbox, but it's a particular hot button of mine and one of the major reasons we got the hell out of that backwater burg.

Shit's all sorts of different now.

G'ma has taken mac out on some secret mission that I couldn't be told anything about.

YES, THIS. VERY MUCH THIS.

"This bar smells like kerosene and stripper tears."

Jilli! Did you see where one of our bar friends loves your stuff.

Our wings are not tired.

I am thankful to y'all for keeping me up to date on religious holidays. I just wrote to R (who is Catholic) and told him to take Friday off, no PTO needed. His family is here from the Philippines this month and he's been holding down the fort for me while I try and recover from this infection. I love that my own boss never questions these "policies" of mine.

Now let us crush something soft and watch it fountain blood. That is a girlish thing to want to do, yes?

Once again, javachik is the Best Boss Evar.

I am still giggling over the fact that I used to work with P-C's boss, and she was one of my favorite colleagues. She is from Wisconsin and had lots of funny farm stories. She is a good boss, too. There are dozens of us! Dozens!
