I think juliana's dinner ministrations might've helped turn back our Bad Lucky March. Just heard from the coach that Emmett's been invited to join the travel/tournament baseball team.
I'm glad sucky March at least went out on a high note.

Be afraid. Be very afraid.
There will be pictures. I think we will finish most of the yardwork today. I will be of no use tomorrow, so I think fridge shopping and possibly fabric for curtains. We have found a contractor to do the work we need, I have signed up for electricity and city utilities, getting quotes on tree work now. Need lunch.
Sparky - yes it is very lucky to have such a lengthy maternity leave. He'll be a few days shy of 5 months old when I return to work. And then his Mama L will be home with him full time. So very lucky!
zomg bacon doughnuts:
We have something like this at Frost Doughnuts up in Mill Creek. They're a maple-frosted, cream-filled eclair-style doughnut with candied bacon on top. They're actually pretty good.
I have Friday and Monday off. And Tuesday, because I was supposed to have Monday off anyway. This is why the civil service is a velvet prison.
And pack my house. Ugh.
You forgot something, Aims. "And pack my house to move into gorgeous new condo that will be OURS OURS OURS and completely free of any weirdo family obligations!"
I finally have some energy today, and I have to waste it on going into the office.
They have bacon donuts in Portland, OR, at Voodoo donuts too.
I do. Which is a bit odd, given y'all's religious affiliation and our lack of one.
Nah, we don't have one either, outside the div school -- we just have a religious origin. What we do have is a persistent habit of either not getting holidays some places get, or getting really halfassed "it's a holiday, but we're still having classes and people in this and that and the other category are expected to come in anyway" holidays. The basic "we're such a cushy place to work! but we secretly expect you to be so vocation-driven that you'll want to walk to work in the snow out of sheer love!" doublespeak that you get in a lot of the edu world.
(On the other hand, the state holiday makes me schadenfreudful at watching MIL try to figure just why she hates it. The government is wasteful and can't do anything right and state employees (note: she is one) are lazy and shiftless and don't deserve more days off! But on the other hand, it's a holiday about Jesus and there should totally be more Jesus in the government! But it's a suspiciously catholic holiday about Jesus! hooboy.)
