Yikes, you need to teach interns to break down and roll when they land on their feet, like you do for parachuting. (They said that landing from parachuting was like landing from a six foot jump but it was more like a 14 foot drop.)

She's a rock climber, so she probably fell as well as anyone would. There wasn't much room to roll. She landed in a box seat.
Besides, doesn't parachuting involve some lateral movement? That would make rolling much easier.
Whoa, aurelia! did she fall from the grid?
Oh geez, Aurelia, that sounds terrifying.

Scola, this is EVIL. It's more like Death is Not an Option.

Chuck the mouse, fuck the fun one, and marry for money.
Sim. Ple.
We had a really great weekend. We took Grace out both days. Today, when I went to get her out of her crib she started bouncing up and down. I walked back towards the kitchen to get her milk and she flipped out. Only calmed down when she realized we were going.
We spent today doing normal Sunday stuff for us. We had Dim Sum at Din Tai Fung. We over ordered and now have dumplings in the fridge. Noah was especially fond of the noodles and the pork buns.
After brunch we went to Huntington Gardens for the periodic apple photo. Grace STILL hates the apple and even Noah was a little iffy on it this time.
After a nap, we went to the playground. We took the red wagon from Grandma all around and Grace mostly stayed in that. She's not strong enough for slides or the rest, but man oh man, did she ever have a joyous times on the swings.
A good day. I can't wait until our home is her permanent home. 7 weeks or so until then.
Besides, doesn't parachuting involve some lateral movement? That would make rolling much easier.
There is some lateral movement but you hit the ground pretty straight on. Still, if you land in the box seats there's not much that can be done. Poor kid - her knees and ankles are going to be fucked up.
Yipes, that's scary aurelia!
I am totally with Grace on the joy of swinging. I STILL love it.
Kat, I love the birthday party pics. Those are some seriously cute 3 year olds.
did she fall from the grid?
She was going to the pipes that hang over the apron which involves squeezing between the wall and the apron grid and settling into a "chair" that hangs from a traveler track. Her chair wasn't properly clipped into the track and there was nothing to grab by the time she realized it.
her knees and ankles are going to be fucked up.
Ankles certainly. She wasn't complaining about her knees at all, so maybe they didn't take as much of a hit. She is gonna hurt for a while.
No news yet, btw. Going on 6 hours. I may not hear anything tonight.
On a lighter note, last night I got to hear a story about a 9 yr old Jeremy Sisto being forced to recite "Speak the speech..." from Hamlet to improve his diction every night before curtain of Galileo Galilei.
We have a counter. One. That also has a sink. Actual counter space? about a foot on each side of the sink. WTF, 1920's homebuilders!?!
Kitchens of this era were on the early end of the built-in, and there was probably still the expectation that the majority of work surfaces would be furniture items.
Plus the counters are tiled and therefore useless as far as cooking surfaces go.
How so? I love tiled counters! I find them far more useful than most other surfaces. Slap a mat on them, and you're good to go! Then wash mat, roll up, and put the hot plates directly on the tile. I miss the ones at my parents' house. Well, not miss. I see them often. Miss LIVING with them. Stupid laminate. Hates it.
Oh, MAN, Grace on the swings kills me dead! Such glee!
We went out on a boat with Lillian today. I think she enjoyed herself, but it was an open boat and raining, so wetness happened.
My best concert ever was Leonard Cohen.
