Oh hey, parents and others: What's a good gift for new parents? It's their second, so I figure they don't need much in the way of baby clothes and stuff. So what would be good for the parents to get, given that I'm not local?

Oh, ita. Having to go to the ER is bad enough, without having to deal with dicks and treatment disasters. I hope today is at least a bit more comfortable.
Oh, I remember when I saw Sting solo for the Dream of the Blue Turtles tour.
That would be the first concert I bought a ticket for myself.
I'm so sorry, ita. When you have to go to the ER, there shouldn't be any more obstructions to treatment from the people who are supposed to treat you.
Ugh, ita. I hope it eases up today.

javachick, we go to Din Tai Fung which is awesomely yummy.
Okay. Need to get rolling.

Gin.
Ha! Hec beat me to it. Liquor and free babysitting are the best gifts I can think of. Really, anything that's about them and not the baby will be appreciated.

Yeah, that's what I was trying to come up with. I'm plotting some babysitting, but it's a pretty significant road trip. Liquor would be kind of hilarious, and fully appreciated, I'm sure!
A certificate to a spa for the new mother. Seriously. Anything that lets her feel human and not like a babymaking factory would be stellar.
So I ask you, what was your first concert?
I think Chuck Mangione. At least it was the first I remember. A small theater and an awesome performance.
Damn, ita. It is awful enough that you have need to go to the ER. The least they can do is treat you right. I hope today is a better day.
I took Brendon to the ER last week after his car crash. We went to the Boca Raton ER and they were lovely. First there was only 1 person in the waiting room other than us. Then each and every person we encountered was concerned and pleasant. Then I realized that they never asked about insurance until we were on the way out the door.
If we ever have to go again I am going back there. I remember vividly going to the Jackson ER in Miami and being told that it was over a 24 hour wait and having them suggest going to another hospital and they would transfer by ambulance making it quicker. Also, the Jackson ER was real scary with all the victims of violent crimes and such. Doctors that train at big city ERs really do see it all.
Really enjoyed all the happy 3 year old twin pictures.
