It's five thousand for kissing, ten thousand for snuggling... End of list.

With no rescue infrastructure in place survivors were turning to looting for sustenance.

I don't think you can even call it looting at this point.

I remember the crazy days. 500 posts an hour. Nubmer! Natgbsb

It is very grim.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

At this point, I don't dare look. I heard the sound bite yesterday and bolted. I haven't made a periodic trek to bbc.co.uk yet today.

Yeah, that visit to a news site was a mistake. Let me sit here and pretend to work for a few minutes while I compose myself.

Greece's financial crisis threatens to take down all of Western civilization - a civilization they themselves founded. A rather tragic irony - which is something they also invented. - Jon Stewart

I don't think you can even call it looting at this point.

Oh no, they're black people. It's looting. And, you know, deal with the devil and all that. Not to mention that Obama is happy because it makes him look good. Oh! And if you send formula you're only making it worse because mothers need to nurse to relieve stress...

t Cannot fucking BELIEVE people are forwarding their own agendas with this. Alas, this tag never closes.

Days shrink and grow cold, sunlight through leaves is my song. Winter is long.

Birthday felicitations, msbelle!

Matt, I'm sorry. That's just a horrible feeling. Not to mention the damage to your car.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

Huh. This cafe I'm at serves breakfast until 2 PM.

So today I get Second Breakfast!

"This bar smells like kerosene and stripper tears."

I'll hold it open for you, because really, that's appalling. I remember having to hear Dallasites tell me that Katrina proved that poor people shouldn't get welfare and having to just walk away.

Which reminds me, because it came up with the Cowboys this year (a friend of mine who just really wasn't thinking) and at the NFC championship with Chicago (a few fans with more enthusiasm than brains). Trash talking is fine. I enjoy it myself. However, saying (insert sports franchise of your choice) will "finish what Katrina started" is not clever. Stop it.

Life moves pretty fast. You don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.

In completely light and fluffy news, my DH's blog has pictures of our dogs (and you can imagine me at the out-of-frame end of the leashes in each photo). Click through the photo gallery to see the beasts. [link]

brillig

Oh, the whole "well, there shouldn't be a city there anyway, it's below sea level" etc. And no one would accept my "Well, there shouldn't be cities on the Florida coastline anyway, they get hit with hurricanes and they just keep rebuilding" counter argument.
