Now tagless for your comfort.

Good luck, shrift. I'm sure it was ok. Unless you're now throwing up somewhere.

brenda, does knowing you're not alone in your shame help?

I haven't trusted science since I saw the film "Flubber."

Nora, that's awesome.

Um, things to consider, I guess. Public transportation is probably not what you're used to. Depending on the area of town you live in, crime can be a consideration. Also depending on where you live, you might not have close access to things (for example, my parents' neighborhood post office just re-opened).

I have a former coworker who moved there earlier this year and loves it, and I think it's awesome that you're considering it.

What else can I tell you about?

Taylor just called me, ecstatic. She's over at Morgan State for her science fair banquet and awards (in my neighborhood) , and she placed second in the biological sciences! Her best friend won first and an all-expense-paid trip to CA. She's OVER THE MOON! And I am so proud of her. Her high school will be hanging a banner with their pictures up.

We're gonna figure out how to video chat.

That's great, sarameg!

Huh, my sister just told me that University of Northern Iowa just knocked Kansas out of the NCAA tournament. That's a surprise.

What are the safer neighborhoods, in your opinion? I like the look of the Marigny.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

Looks like you can search the crime records by neighborhood here:

There's also this: [link]

I personally never had any problems, and neither have my parents. Most of it is probably just a question of being sensible. I am not an expert, however, so you'd probably want to talk to someone who lives there, or has lived there post-Katrina.

Yeah, I'm not too squeamish about stuff like that- I agree that being sensible is the best course regardless of neighborhood.
