Because books.

I have homemade soda bread toasting right now! NOM.

The most unprofessional thing I've ever done was call in to a job to quit, same day. I was only seventeen, though, and I hated my boss like burning.

All sorrows can be borne if you put them into a story. Tell me a story.

My cold is still going on day 31.

That is NOT GOOD.

“Not dead yet!”

Aw, I'm watching my Marlins for the first time this year on TV. Just a Spring Training game and yeah, I'm seeing guys I won't see the rest of the season, but still-- baseball!

Which reminds me, I need to buy some Mariners tickets for when my in-laws are in town.

Someone I went to high school with just posted on facebook that she's DRINKING GREEN BEER AND IT'S AWESOME! I keep thinking, "You are 37. Green beer? You are drinking green beer?!?! YOU ARE 37!!"

See? I gave everybody here an opportunity to tell me what a bad person I am and nobody did, because I fuckin' rule.

Heh, Suzi, that's awesome. Bless CJ's heart. If you don't frame it, definitely treasure it and put it in a safe place for some future date.

I have a friend from college whose sibs have been tenderly holding in secret reserve for several decades an official statement (notarized by the rest of the family) signed by the youngest sib at the age of five announcing that he loves the Dukes of Hazzard, he knows enough to know it is the BEST SHOW EVER, and he will bet $1,000,000 that you can ask him anytime in his whole life ever, even when he is thirty or some other very old age, and it will always, always be his favorite show because it is just the BEST SHOW EVER. He was so horrified that his family could even think he might someday love it less, he was willing to stake all his future reputation (and earnings) on it.

Barb, I just got IM'ed by one of my old baseball pals saying he missed me and wanted to know if I was coming out for opening night. I need to look into getting some Rockie's tickets. I'd rather see the A's play, but I'll take the baseball where I can get it.

Nice one JZ. I didn't expect CJ to really put anything in writing, so I didn't get the chance to suggest a monetary consequence. That would have been even better. I need to call K-Bug and tell her about it.

I never had a drink (other than a sip from parents' glass) until 19.

"What kind of magical sunshine and lollipop world do you live in? Because you need to be medicated."-SFist

We were talking about drinking at jury duty and I think a few people were pretty appalled to hear about the drinking habits of my prep school. Between a passport that said I was 18 (at 15) and a mother who didn't believe in a drinking age, there was no way I wasn't drinking. Although IIRC it was mostly as a senior.

Heh. I know what you mean. I'm going to miss the Marlins, but that's not going to stop me from rooting for the Mariners. In fact, just bought tickets for the Sunday game when my in-laws are visiting. Got great seats behind home plate, but up a bit. I'm really looking forward to it.
