I resist the green on St Patrick's Day anyway since I am 100% Irish and don't see any need to come over all temporary Irish on one day a year.
I'm 100% not Irish and also lack the need. Yay Yeats and all that, but I'm saving wearing one of my three green spring sweaters until tomorrow.

I have been on a no-shoe, no-nail polish, and no-DVD buy effort since the beginning of the year. I have only slipped once on the polish (but I really do love the Lubu Heels).
But I didn't include no-concert tickets. I got a presale notice for my FAVORITE band coming to the area, during the summer, when both kids can go with me, and BOOM, I spent $70/person (yes, I like getting good "seats"). My bank account hates me, but I'm so excited. Not sure if I'm going to tell the kids now or closer to June 14th.

The status is NOT quo.
To add to the earlier teachers don't get UI discussion, I don't know if it's the same for private and public, but I know that I wouldn't get them because we always work on a year to year contract. They just have to keep us around to the end of the contract. We aren't technically laid off; our contract just isn't renewed. We don't have a health care option apart from COBRA (which is prohibitively expensive) that I know of.
