I'm arguing food politics with someone who absolutely refuses to acknowledge the existence of food deserts. This is not going well.

So the shelves I bought require a "rubber mallet" for assembly. WTF?
You know, I think my fist makes a good approximation of a rubber mallet.
So what was the jury for, megan?? Can you tell us about it now?
1) DUI
2) BAC >.08 while driving
3) hit and run (a car not people)
4) intimidating witnesses
Basically, a guy hit a parked car at 10am on a Tuesday in front of a construction site. He fled the scene, but then came back and tried to tell the multiple witnesses not to get involved or his friends would "come beat them up" (or whatever the equivalent is in Spanish).
We actually had decided 3 of the counts on Friday, but were hung on the .08 charge. Because people are stupid.
OMG y'all, I just found a pile of letters from like 1988 - 1997. seriously?!!?
Seriously -- how many times have you moved since then??
I would also like to be a lector!!
So was he eventually found guilty on any/all of them?
but were hung on the .08 charge
But...wasn't he breathalyzed/blood tested/whatever? Or how else did they come up with the charge? Cause I'd think that'd be the EASIEST one to convict on!

He assumes there's a Kroger every 5 blocks or something? How does that work? Does the federal government arrange a grocery zoning grid or something?
I should add that we found him guilty on all three counts.
The reason we were hung on the .08 was that the roadside breathalizer wasn't done until about 2 hours after the accident and the station intoxalizer wasn't done until an hour after that. We had no evidence as to what he had eaten or drunk at any point.
I want to be a Lector! I am awesome at reading aloud! How come no one will pay me to do that?
There's always audiobooks.
Voicework in general...
eta: Great news, Liese!

He can always buy whatever fresh produce he wants, and he's not rich, therefore everybody has access to produce, and anyone who doesn't buy it is just lazy.
To do voicework, I'd have to work a little harder at losing my accent. Trying to talk without a drawl makes my lips go numb.
