I also iron alot doing costumes, but I remember being really angry when I had to iron the Conductor's tux shirt. Like, doesn't it come from the drycleaners ironed? And I had to do it every day. Dude.

Bwah! I can imagine my mom's reaction if I'd asked her to do that, well, ever really. Before I learned to iron I never had clothes that needed it. After I learned to iron Mom tended to discover things that she or Dad had that also needed ironing whenever I pulled out the board. She also encouraged me to bring home laundry whenever I'd come, because theirs needed doing too, and, you know, since I would be doing laundry anyway . . .

You have to remember that being a 5-time Olympic medalist means Hilary Knight has been playing hockey at an elite level at least 16 years. It's impossible for her to be a teenage girl less than 16 years old, thus the President's complete lack of interest.
During the years when I had no washer or dryer, I practically had to fight my mom off of the clothes I brought over to wash (and in fact she would often shoo me homeward if it got too late and then I'd find everything folded when I came back to finish the drying after work the next day). I think the woman was pathologically incapable of letting housework go undone for any length of time up until she hit retirement age.

I like to iron if I have time and something to watch on TV. It's sort of mindless and then there are all these nicely pressed clothes, which feels productive.
I still buy less linen than I used to, though.

I hate ironing so much I buy clothes based on whether or not they have to be ironed or dry cleaned. I don't like having to dry clean things, either. Gets spendy.

You'd think I'd get into the soothing nature of folding and ironing, but NSM.
I may also be feeling a bit violent over the whole housechores thing since I'm actually doing some today. I've come to the conclusion that I have a deep abiding hate on for the Dyson vacuum. Pet-friendly indeed-- I can barely vacuum half my room before I have to empty the canister. And the stupid brush gets snagged up and frozen if you look at it funny.

I'd be interested in the polish box, too, given my cuurent obsession. I don't have much to add though.
My mom never ironed. We had a big bin in the closet filled with stuff to be ironed, and right around holiday time mom would ask me to iron a tablecloth and some napkins. Dad didn't iron either, he just hung his shirts to dry. We are lazy and unkempt in my house. Cody irons, god bless him.
