What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

So I am having issues with the New Car Tax Credit. I bought a car last year knowing it was coming and assuming it would apply to all cars purchased in 2009, but it was only for cars bought after February 17. And I bought mine on February 14. I post-dated my check for the 17th, however, since I didn't actually have the money in my account; I had intended to officially buy the car the week after.

Putting February 17 as the purchase date on my tax return would get me almost four hundred dollars. It's annoying to be screwed out of that over a few days. Surely, the IRS isn't going to sit around verifying all these purchase dates, right? It's not the biggest tax-fudge ever.

They are being MUCH pickier about vetting the paperwork for tax credits now (a lot of early fraud,) so I'd ask a professional about the exact criteria.

Nasty out. Drove out to the swim shop and got a new suit and swimcap. Was going to Target, but I couldn't stand being on the roads any longer. No farmer's market, it was just too wet to even think about it. Pool soon, then I'll come back and clean and do my nails.

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

I went back to bed this morning, and slept much too long, so now I am excessively gronked.

Need to do something to get my brain moving again, but I don't know what.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

I did that, too. So far today, I've thought about a shower, but have not actually taken one. I did send out two resumes, but that's not nearly enough. It's definitely not a day to go outside here.

Why did Darth Vader cross the road? To get to the Dark Side!

Can you call Nubar and ask about local salons who carry their product? A lot of salons also sell polish. And Nubar, IIRC, is based out of LA.

Oo, good call, Plei. I'll give them a call. Esp if they are based out of LA I don't want to have to pay almost $12 shipping to get two bottles of polish. And maybe top coat. You said you like their top coat, right? My toes last fine without top coat but my fingers last about two seconds.

OOH, shower. Maybe I'll try that.

Eventually.

"You can't put a price on the joy of not giving a shit." -Zenkitty

I took a sick day yesterday because my sinuses felt like an elephant was sitting on my face. Considering that I've slept at least 24 of the last 48 hours, I think that was a wise move.

Now I just need to stay awake long enough to register for VividCon this evening.

So come, my friends, be not afraid/We are so lightly here/It is in love that we are made; In love we disappear

Burrell, I love their Diamont topcoat and their Foundation basecoat.

I am trying to justify buying the basecoat bulk.

Sometimes I think I might just move up to Vermont, open a bookstore or a vegan restaurant. Adam Schlesinger, z''l

Why the hell am I watching Toddlers and Tiaras? There's a mother on this show who adopted a little girl from China, and she's entering her daughter, now age 4 or 5, in pageants. For the talent portion on the pageant, the mother is having her do Polynesian dance, because "she looks the part."

I'm also boggling at all these little girls calmly sitting through things like eyebrow waxing that I've seen leave grown women crying in pain. I'm wondering in the parents dosed them with some Children's Tylenol or something off-camera.

A mother on this show just "made a deal" with her four-year-old that the mother would take away the girl's stuffed dolphin (which seems to be a favorite stuffed animal) if the girl doesn't do well in the pageant. This is the same mother who keeps talking about how her daughter isn't as polished as the other girls and really has no chance of winning.
