I don't fancy spending the next month trying to get librarian out of the carpet.

“Not dead yet!”

Yes, breathing would be good.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Hope it helps, ita. Breathing is very good, I am in favor of breathing.

I've run into that tasting the IV thing before, it's a pretty weird sensation. I think I've gotten it with dyes, maybe?

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

I also vote for breathing...

By the time I was 12 or 13, she would write things like "I love Duran Duran!" on the banana, which just cemented her rep as the cool mom.

That is awesome! And I'm glad mine isn't the only family that does that.

Why did Darth Vader cross the road? To get to the Dark Side!

So I am trying to find a store that carries Nubar polish so that I can walk in and buy it and not have to pay shipping. No way can I justify buying $75 worth of nail polish. Sigh. No one carries Nubar.

Any LAista want to go in with me on an order? I know Kat just ordered some, so not her presumably, but anyone else?

A dress should be tight enough to show you're a woman but loose enough to flee from zombies. — Ginger

Did you know some IV meds taste on injection? Weirdness. I can taste benadryl and toradol, and the first push of saline.

Yes!! Hah, I'm not the only one. I could totally taste benadryl when they shot me up with it (morphine pump is lovely, but it makes me a little itchy.)

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Breathing, check.

Today's second nurse was one of the good ones. Most nurses try twice (if that often) to find a line and then bail. First nurse declared me one of the worst cases ever without poking me at all. Him? He's never left until I've gotten a line in me somewhere, and he's adamant athat it won't be a doctor-administered neck IV.

I'm always relieved when he comes in.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

I'm always relieved when he comes in.

You should tell him. Being the good, diligent, patient-first nurse doesn't always get rewarded.

Can you call Nubar and ask about local salons who carry their product? A lot of salons also sell polish. And Nubar, IIRC, is based out of LA.

Nubar, heh. The name, to me, seems like the bastard love-child of "Numfar" and "FUBAR."

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

It's rain type 17 out there today. Blech. Fortunately the 2 year-old birthday party this afternoon is in our building.
