Sometimes I think I might just move up to Vermont, open a bookstore or a vegan restaurant. Adam Schlesinger, z''l

Now I really want to do a study looking at cost per calorie and cost per nutrient of various foods. Like, on Peapod right now, ground beef is about $5/pound, and spinach is about $2.50 per pound. But ground beef is about 1200 calories per pound, and spinach is 100 calories per pound, so with the beef, you're paying about .4 cents per calorie, and with the spinach you're paying 2.5 cents per calorie. But spinach has way more iron per calorie than beef does (I can't find the numbers right now), so you might be paying more per milligram of iron with the beef than with the spinach. My bet is that the foods that give you the most calories per dollar would also give you the fewest nutrients per dollar, but I haven't seen that analysis done anywhere.

OK, the closest iron per calorie values I could find were for sirloin and romaine lettuce. Sirloin has .7 mg iron per 100 calories, and romaine has 7.9 mg iron per 100 calories. So with the beef, you're paying about 57 cents per milligram of iron, and with the greens, it's 32 cents per milligram of iron. (I wish I had better numbers to play with.)

And... it looks like I'm on a jury.

Also, how does the lead female character have a one bedroom HOUSE!

There's a male couple across the alley who renovated so that upstairs is basically one open bedroom. They have it on the market (for some time now,) for quite a bit more than comps in the area. No way will they get it. It's nice and tasteful, but it really limits their buying audience, especially with cheaper places with more than one bedroom nearby.

Arm is much better after the swim.

Connie, good deal on the raise.

megan, cool? How many days of jury pay does your company cover?

I remember the crazy days. 500 posts an hour. Nubmer! Natgbsb

Wow sara, that is odd. I can see making the upstairs 2 BRs, but one is an odd choice.

They don't say in the policies. Just that it's covered. Since they don't give us sick days and no one seems to track my vacation, I'm not too worried about it. It really should only be a few days.

Yeah, I'm excited. In NY, the minute I said I was getting my doctorate, I was dismissed. Let's just say that this case was somewhat easy to have a personal opinion on or experience with, so they really couldn't be picky about people's professions and such.

msbelle, it's sort of two rooms, but more a parlor/sitting room with opening like between my 2 downstairs rooms. The traffic flow is as if one room. And yeah. It works for a single/couple with no kids and no company, but that's about it. And the thing is, a lot of single people here take on roommates, so.
