Oxford cops reprimanded for tobogganing on riot shields
As the poster notes,
Hell, I'd rather have them tobogganing on the things than using them to beat up peaceful protesters at Climate Camp.
Plus, I'm all about adaptive reuse!
Off-topic discussion. Wanna talk about corsets, pandas, duct tape, or physics? This is the place. Detailed discussion of any current-season TV must be whitefonted.

Sometimes I HATE the New York Times -- Size 12 is not fat!. Or so they've realized. Somehow it's not news.
The Style section is generally infuriating.
It did educate me to the fat fetishisation--I had no idea they were retouching images to make models look fatter, or having models wear padding. How weird. Hire bigger women! It's not like the ideals of thinness that can only exist in Photoshop.
Enh. The Project Rungay guys had a post about the V shoot along with the pics and people talked about how they touch up the big girls to make them look fat.
What makes me shrug is they show the "plus" models topless, with a focus on the rolls, when most women who are larger would rather focus on butt and boobs.

Heh. That reminds me of the Lost Underground Art Project. More pictures here.
Had an appointment to give blood this morning. Even though I'm much healthier than I was 6 months ago when last I tried, today my blood pressure was too high. Grump.
That reminds me--they're having a blood drive here at work today, but I'm on HBP meds, so I probably won't be able to give.
I'm not sure what the intent of that article is supposed to be, but the tone of "ZOMG! SIZE 12 WOMAN NOT A DISGUSTING PIG!" is typical of the NYT Style section.
