That's kind of depressing. Vancouver has a big Asian population...I wonder how many Asian actors are out there? When I was in theatre school in Van in the 90s, the one black guy I went to school with used to joke that all the black people in Van could meet in an elevator.

They don't want to work on Eureka, then. They chronically have that problem--any actors of colour they have, pretty much, are imports from outside of Vancouver. I know they they had problems when specifically casting mixed race, for Allison's son.

Wow, really. Huh. I am too lazy to look it up, but perhaps what Vancouver has is more Pacific Rim/Asian folks and fewer peoples of African descent. Plus a pretty sizeable First Nations population.

Man, Gina Torres is a stupendously lovely woman.
She did the voice of Superwoman (evil version of Wonder Woman from an alternate Earth) in the new Justice League movie, and she was very, very good at being bad, without ever reminding me of Jasmine.
