Oh, at first it was confusing. Just the idea of computers was like — whoa! I'm eleven hundred years old! I had trouble adjusting to the idea of Lutherans.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

I certainly would, Perkins. Lots of interest, in fact.

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

Sorry, P-C, it's tonight. Missed the window. You would have had to be at the theater... now.

Aw, damn! Well, I was having a nice time chilling at the Borderlands Cafe when you posted.

hip deep in pie

but Colin says casting local is pretty much equivalent to casting white.

That's kind of depressing. Vancouver has a big Asian population...I wonder how many Asian actors are out there? When I was in theatre school in Van in the 90s, the one black guy I went to school with used to joke that all the black people in Van could meet in an elevator.

Excellent! I shall email you. Any other Bayistas interested?

Since they also auditioned Lauren Holly it is evidently any ethnicity, but Colin says casting local is pretty much equivalent to casting white.

Yeah, given the demographics of Vancouver, I do find that weird. There's no shortage of actors of color in Canada. Huh.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

They don't want to work on Eureka, then. They chronically have that problem--any actors of colour they have, pretty much, are imports from outside of Vancouver. I know they they had problems when specifically casting mixed race, for Allison's son.

Insent, to both of you.

Wow, really. Huh. I am too lazy to look it up, but perhaps what Vancouver has is more Pacific Rim/Asian folks and fewer peoples of African descent. Plus a pretty sizeable First Nations population.

Vancouver definitely has a huge Asian population. Apparently they're not acting. Much fewer black people. Again, don't seem to be acting.

Don't know about imports, but the net effect for Colin's casting: whiteyMcwhitewhite.
