No such thing--with your dark hair and a lick of makeup you'd be fabulous.
Of course the purple one with the scarf could be formal very easily, but with another scarf or stole, something pastel perhaps, with light-colored flats and a wide-brimmed picture hat? Garden Party perfect.

I have that problem with shirtdresses. I love them...I love that style. But they do not look good on me at all.
