Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

I won't be in NY next year.

Ah, not soon. Can't speak for flight prices, then.

It's five thousand for kissing, ten thousand for snuggling... End of list.

Couples in Ocho Rios. At the time, this was five years ago, they had a last-minute deal where you could stay at a resort of their choosing for something like $150 pp/night, and you could book it like six days in advance. Now that deal costs more than twice that: [link]

Remember that the frontier of the Rebellion is everywhere. And even the smallest act of insurrection pushes our lines forward.

Y'all are acting as I Dollywood weren't a factor here. Dude. DOLLYWOOD.

Unsurprisingly, I've never stayed at Couples. I notice some incredibly low prices at Sandals, but I've not been to the cheaper locations. They're traditionally all-inclusive--but for $112?

The best eatings I've had was probably at FDR, which is a family resort I got insane low rates at--under $100 a night for some of the best service I've had anywhere at any price. Now $650 there gets you three bedrooms facing the ocean.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

I think the nightmarish destination wedding my friend went to was at Sandals. And not that cheap.

I was about to rail on destination weddings, but I went to a pretty nice one a few years back. Still, it's not properly a destination when it's home, even if it's the other side of the island.

Sandals is totally not a nice enough place to get travel to get married at, and anywhere that I'd say was nice enough would be more money than I'd ask my friends to spend.

Hmm. Now that I think about it, a fair number of Jamaican resorts have free weddings. Your friend's friends might have been wedding on the cheap.

100% on the cheap -- there wasn't even a special dinner for the wedding, just what was included. There was more that made it terrible, but I forget what else.

Yeah, it doesn't cost much to get the wedding package at most places. I love the *idea* of an all-inclusive, especially if you're doing it last minute. Don't plan anything, just sit in the sun and guzzle sugary drinks. But I don't know how much you have to spend for the food to be worth the premium. That appears to be where they "get" you.
