Our standardized testing isn't until late April, but we are already getting flyers home about it. I refuse to do additional prep with mac. Like he needs another thing to be wound-up about.

And it doesn't really matter or count for him as an individual at all at this point. I think outside of Regents test or Exit Exams, the tests themselves only count in terms of sorting kids, otherwise, they don't have any practical application except to look at schoolwide progress.

I am not in the best of tempers-- my theatre student crapped out on me last night, I had a very long night that included student stage managers telling me what to do and me snapping at them (which I hate) and about 50 million things that had not been communicated with me.

And today my regular job student didn't show. She emailed because she had too much schoolwork. Dude, you work 10 hours a week, plan your damn life better.

Sounds like the dean know she's trying to cover her ass and doing it badly.

Early Wednesday morning, State Sen. Roy Ashburn (R-Calif.) was pulled over and arrested for drunk driving. Sources report that Ashburn -- a fierce opponent of gay rights -- was driving drunk after leaving a gay nightclub; when the officer stopped the state-issued vehicle, there was an unidentified man in the passenger seat of the car.
