Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

I'm still reading the archives of Questionable Content, BTW. I'm about halfway through.

Heh. I went through that a year or two ago. Of course, there were fewer archives back then.

I'm going to the sweet and sour place. Will I get a seat? Stay tuned....

Marten and Faye have had The Talk.

You were a wrong baby who grew up wrong. The wrong kind of wrong. It's better you hear it from a friend.

Full lyrics of "Love Story," the Romeo and Juliet song: [link] Also, note how one of the great tragedies of English literature is solved by "I talked to your dad."

"Stay away from my daughter, tiny punk!" "What if I marry her instead?" "'Kay! Hugs!"

Cats to become a rabbit should gather immediately now here

Of course, when you said Love story, at first I thought you meant the "doodOOOOdoodoodoo DOOODOOO dooo DOOO doo DOOOOO doo doo."

I must obey the inscrutable exhortations of my soul—Calvin and Hobbs

My standards for pop lyrics aren't high. But I saw Taylor Swift at the Grammys, and she can't sing. I don't know if some seriously underpaid sound tech mixes every third note she sings until they can record a track without massive unintended dissonance for her albums or what. Chick can't sing. So I don't really care what she's trying to sing about.

In other news, I have a massive craving for a vodka gimlet. And hey, I have ice, vodka, and Roses lime. Off to find my shaker.

You know, from your "doodOOOOdoodoodoo DOOODOOO dooo DOOO doo DOOOOO doo doo," I totally got that damn melody stuck in my head! I think my mom had a music box with that song. Why, I have no idea.

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

I sometimes think about the fact all the food I am eating is dead and decaying and I have a hard time eating it.

Strangely, this only happens to me when I eat plants. Sometimes it occurs to me that the thing I'm about to bite into might be rotten inside. Then I have to slice it open before I can eat it.

The more I learn, the more I realize how little I know.

Now I am earwormed with "Carrot Juice Is Murder."

Greece's financial crisis threatens to take down all of Western civilization - a civilization they themselves founded. A rather tragic irony - which is something they also invented. - Jon Stewart

My sister is trying to kill me. She sent me an email whose entire new content was a winky smiley.

However, I will not die. I will show her.

It's only fair, ita, you can kill her with a pinky.

I'm not sure. I've seen them use famous people's pictures without permission before, but I have no idea what the laws are about that.

My understanding is that is that you can own particular images, but not all the images of X. Though they could be in trouble if they use his image to make it appear he is endorsing them. (From the context I'm guessing "no".)

Our farmers` market is closed during the winter and only open one day a week during the harvest seasons. But I can get local organic free range eggs at the kitchen store and they are NOM so much better. You can tell a huge difference in the darkness and richness of color in the yolk. And in taste too, obvs, but you can see it too. My farmer neighbor also sells eggs, and I check on the chickens all the time driving by (they look happy) but since he doesn`t put out his veggie sign in winter, I`m afraid to stop by just for eggs.

Bring him some banana bread or something when you do? If he's selling he'll be happy to have the business. If he isn't, the ritual food ofering makes it clear that you're asking in a neighborly way. If it's somewhere inbetween (Production is down but he sells when there is excess? What do *I* know of chickens?) he can more easily tell you that in said neighborly way.

My neighborhood Farmers Market is gone until Spring, but some of the larger ones are year-round. I miss my beautiful eggs too (Me schlepping eggs on the subway seems unwise.)

My heart aches for Chile. I am profoundly grateful that Hawaii has the technology and the means to get all the people out of the way in time, I hope their property losses aren't too catastrophic.

Is it possible that they actually have different colds up here, vs. NYC? Because I have had a million little colds this winter, and it is not like me! I haven't been really sick, which is good, but I'm usually just healthy!

I'd assume yes, don't colds mutate pretty quickly?

So, there was a big quake in Haiti, followed by tons of aftershocks, then a big quake in Okinawa and now a big quake in Chile? It seems creepy and movie like, but I'm wondering if it always seems like that and if quake clusters aren't all that unusual.

That really seems like spooky action movie shit.

***

Scary. I hope all are okay. Does Kat Perez still have fam in Chile?

I'm pretty sure the answer is 'no'. A bunch of that branch of the family moved to Brazil.

All the Elizabeth talk is making me smile. My niece was born 3:02 yesterday morning after 56 hours of labor, 3 hours of transition, and 10 minutes of pushing. Her name is Elizabeth* Lightning Lastname and everyone is doing fine.

( * Elizabeth is her mother's middle name, which I picked when I was three and a half.)
