Now I am earwormed with "Carrot Juice Is Murder."

My sister is trying to kill me. She sent me an email whose entire new content was a winky smiley.
However, I will not die. I will show her.
It's only fair, ita, you can kill her with a pinky.

I'm not sure. I've seen them use famous people's pictures without permission before, but I have no idea what the laws are about that.
My understanding is that is that you can own particular images, but not all the images of X. Though they could be in trouble if they use his image to make it appear he is endorsing them. (From the context I'm guessing "no".)

Our farmers` market is closed during the winter and only open one day a week during the harvest seasons. But I can get local organic free range eggs at the kitchen store and they are NOM so much better. You can tell a huge difference in the darkness and richness of color in the yolk. And in taste too, obvs, but you can see it too. My farmer neighbor also sells eggs, and I check on the chickens all the time driving by (they look happy) but since he doesn`t put out his veggie sign in winter, I`m afraid to stop by just for eggs.
Bring him some banana bread or something when you do? If he's selling he'll be happy to have the business. If he isn't, the ritual food ofering makes it clear that you're asking in a neighborly way. If it's somewhere inbetween (Production is down but he sells when there is excess? What do *I* know of chickens?) he can more easily tell you that in said neighborly way.
My neighborhood Farmers Market is gone until Spring, but some of the larger ones are year-round. I miss my beautiful eggs too (Me schlepping eggs on the subway seems unwise.)

Jengod HAS been busy!

My heart aches for Chile. I am profoundly grateful that Hawaii has the technology and the means to get all the people out of the way in time, I hope their property losses aren't too catastrophic.

Is it possible that they actually have different colds up here, vs. NYC? Because I have had a million little colds this winter, and it is not like me! I haven't been really sick, which is good, but I'm usually just healthy!
I'd assume yes, don't colds mutate pretty quickly?

So, there was a big quake in Haiti, followed by tons of aftershocks, then a big quake in Okinawa and now a big quake in Chile? It seems creepy and movie like, but I'm wondering if it always seems like that and if quake clusters aren't all that unusual.
That really seems like spooky action movie shit.

Scary. I hope all are okay. Does Kat Perez still have fam in Chile?
I'm pretty sure the answer is 'no'. A bunch of that branch of the family moved to Brazil.

All the Elizabeth talk is making me smile. My niece was born 3:02 yesterday morning after 56 hours of labor, 3 hours of transition, and 10 minutes of pushing. Her name is Elizabeth* Lightning Lastname and everyone is doing fine.
( * Elizabeth is her mother's middle name, which I picked when I was three and a half.)
So after I posted about being over caffeinated? I fell into a doze. Weird. It helped though. And then I went to the pool, which was populated by little demons. Usually the kids are good about staying out of the lanes, but tonight, I crashed into 3 different ones (really clobbered one kid, hope he doesn't have nail marks- I never saw him until right after my hand hit him), got hit with a beach ball and had a dive stick land on my ass. The lifeguard was doing his best, and did put some kids into timeout, but it was as if they were just super crazed tonight.
Had a nice time at the farmer's market. Met the jewelry lady (a friend of K's.) She has some gorgeous stuff I covet, but since I don't buy my own jewelry...I may ask to take pictures to send to my mom. Heh. She also makes glass suncatchers. She also has started making leaf-y jewelry, and I've been looking for silver dogwoods for AGES for my mom. I may ask if she can do that. Then I met another friend of K's, who turns out is one of the owners of Baltimore Green Construction and who has hooked a number of people up in the neighborhood with his preferred contractors and the like. Good person to know!!! Got empanadas and a half pound of spinach to wilt for when I can't chew next week. Stopped by the hardware store to get keychains, and K hadn't been in there and ended up being a kid in a candy store. Got all sorts of stuff. Place is like crack.
food is good
I have leeks soaking for potato leek soup
there will be bacon to crumble on top
I never got dressed today. I did clean most of the bathroom and some of the kitchen (no floors), and did my nails. And went through most of a box of Kleenex.
I am at the sweet and sour place, which is actually called Rice. Just me and four Loyola college students.
Soon I will have food. A chicken and one or more squids will have died for my food, as well as many vegetables and rice plants. Wait, does the rice plant die when the grains of rice are harvested?
I ahve to go meet my friends who are up from CT. It's almost 10 pm, I am already in my jammies, and as much as I want to see them, I don't want to go out. I should have made plans with someone else earlier in the evening, so I would already be out.
College students are talking about a girl who wore a pair of bloodstained jeans for 6 years of high school.
Um... huh?
Taylor Swift is on my radio telling me that the boy I love at 15 might not be my true love.
More importantly, she informs me that if I sleep with someone, and he is not my true love, I am Doomed Forever. Becuase I am Ruined, and have Given Away All My Goods.
I'm going to be making leek and cauliflower soup on tuesday. But this time I will open the kitchen windows and set up a fan, because last time I was smelling the leeks all over the house for weeks. And I hate stale onion smell. Gack. It smells like stale sweat. Occasionally, I get a whiff of it in the bedroom, and I'm pretty sure it is the cabinets around the radiator. One of these days, I'm going to go in with ammonia and clean everything I can reach. I vacuumed it out when I moved in (OMG, the CRAP that was back there: old carpet fluff, plaster from where the old windows leaked and it fell off, old wallpaper, random dirt...) but it needs a scrubdown, I think. At some point, I probably need to yank out the cabinets, repair the wall surface and then put cabinets back in (but with more doors, so the entire thing is accessible) but that's a someday. I'd love to use that space and right now I don't.
