"I keep to a strict diet of ill-advised enthusiasm and heartfelt regret." Leigh Bardugo

In lighter news, Johnny Weir's response to the Quebecois who were asshats about him ("“We should make him [Weir] pass a gender test at this point,” and Mailhot then joking that Weir should compete in the women’s competition. The two broadcasters later issued an on-air apology.") is pretty awesome, including

“I would challenge anyone to question my upbringing and question my parents’ ideals and feelings about bringing up me and my brother, who’s completely different from me but taught very much the same way that I was,” Weir said.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Yikes, Kat. I'm glad they are evacuating!

And I watched all of Be Good Johnny Weir yesterday and enjoyed it A Great Deal.

Now tagless for your comfort.

Lots of safety-ma for your family, Kat.

Because books.

Oh Kat, all fingers crossed. Very scary.

I loved the house I spent high school in, circa 1910. No fireplace (because I was told it showed you were wealthy enough not to need it for heat), but a butler's pantry off the kitchen, wide front porch that wrapped around one corner, cut-glass doorknobs, claw foot tub in the bathroom, and the two push-button light switches everywhere.

So much the house of my heart. I still miss it.

Uh, to be clear, the house was built circa 1910, I did not attend high school then. Need more caffeine now.

See? I gave everybody here an opportunity to tell me what a bad person I am and nobody did, because I fuckin' rule.

Oh, crap, Kat. Thinking good safe thoughts for your sister and nieces (and any other Buffista beloveds in HI).

I can't even imagine 8.8. CNN is saying it's approximately 1,000 times stronger than the Haiti quake. I just want to run around swaddling the entire human race in bubble wrap.

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

May your family be safe, Kat!

I just want to run around swaddling the entire human race in bubble wrap.

And buying an emergency kit and packing some clothes and water.

Plus with the 7.0 in Okinawa yesterday (and all of the 5.0+ aftershocks) it seems time to get stuff in order, like the San Andreas has been pretty quiet and maybe this is all activity indicative of more to come.

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

Safety-ma to your family, Kat.
