I think you can do it either way.

Goodbye and Good Riddance 2009: So long and thanks for all the fish.
Every year we watch the Charlie Brown special, do the Snoopy dance, wish everybody a Merry Christmukkah, and thank our Secret Santas in the good riddance thread. Which is this one, in case you were wondering. Oh, and 2009? Don't think we've forgotten about you
I have received Secret Santa packages that have had names attached and that haven't. Usually the haven't are ones where I can fairly easily figure out who it is from.
It's up to you, Calli. Barb and I kept the ::wink, wink, nudge, nudge:: going quite a while last year. For some folks, half the fun is guessing who the sender was, but there's usually a reveal at some point.
OK, thanks!
I just want to say that I FINALLY sent out my Secret Santa package... from 2008. I feel terrible that I'm a year late and hope my Santee forgives me.
Er...I don't think I've received my Secret Santa assignment again, but if I have...please resend with a giant "SECRET SANTA STUPID" because I get a shitton of things in my junk mail and although I try to read through the subject line of everything, I forgot I'm looking for this and it maybe have been deleted.
okthxbye
Last year was the first time I participated, and I didn't even think keeping my identity secret.
Not that it would help, anyway. Unless the giftee expects for another package from Israel, it's kind of redundant.
As for myself, I think that getting a package from a secret Santa that would choose to keep herself/himself secret would drive me crazy. I know that most of you live in the U.S., but except for two or three of you I have no idea on which states you are, and I'd be lost. Of course, if watching me going insane online for months trying to figure out who you are and trying to bribe people from long distance to revile their identity will make you happy, go for it. You might end up with a future therapist's check to pay, but I like to keep my people happy.
I have never understood what the "secret" part of secret santa is, if there is only 1 gift and the santa is revealed on that gift. But I went to a highschool where the secret santa thing was 2-3 weeks long and people got gifts throughout, so there was a lot to guess on and a lot of misdirection at times.
I've kept my identity 'secret' - except I don't expect that many packages are being sent out from, well, London.
Btw, I sent mine off today, so I do hope it will reach my giftee across the pond in time for Christmas. I had SO much fun shopping for it, too!

I thought it was the part of not knowing who is this until the moment of receiving the gift.
I really need to complete the shopping for my giftee. 50% done, but there's one more thing I'd like to add and will have to think about.
