Goodbye and Good Riddance 2009: So long and thanks for all the fish.

Every year we watch the Charlie Brown special, do the Snoopy dance, wish everybody a Merry Christmukkah, and thank our Secret Santas in the good riddance thread. Which is this one, in case you were wondering. Oh, and 2009? Don't think we've forgotten about you

"What kind of magical sunshine and lollipop world do you live in? Because you need to be medicated."-SFist

Can I nab that for my fb knitting project gallery?

Sure!

Art Crawl!!!

Huh - I didn't remember that the image at the site was also green. You can find the pattern here . . . I have to say that when I started the bobbles almost killed me. But now, I can do them pretty smoothly.

(There is, of course, a long tradition of Doctor Who fan-knitting.)

"I'm useless alone." // "We're all useless alone. It's a good thing you're not alone."

I have a Dalek washcloth my friend made me. "Exfoliate!"

Embrace the idea that we are the leaders we've been looking for. Grace Lee Boggs

Love the Dalek potholder, sumi! This is even more impressive because while I thoroughly enjoy Dr. Who, I HATE Daleks with an unholy passion. Just one sound of their horrid voices makes me want to reach into the tv and pop off their non-head heads and spin them around by their toilet plungers.

What are they exactly? People/robots/aliens? I think I might prefer to think of my potholders as oddly shaped lighthouses.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

They are aliens inside of robots, who have traumatised a generation of British children and PBS watchers.

"And that's why God Almighty gave us fire insurance and the public defender".

I'm gonna do some "I'm freaking grateful" Snowies shopping this afternoon, but I want it to be somewhat fair: I want to send them to as many people as I can, but ugh, don't have much money (esp. after all of the money spent on keeping my dog alive).

But I do have the money to buy and send it to some, and others can get it later.

So, in order to do it somewhat fair: the first ones to email me their snailmail address will get it first. The others, later. I hope that's acceptable with all. I'm planning to send it around tomorrow.

Update: there was once last pack of Snowies there, so I bought other things instead. When it comes to Max Brenner, it really doesn't matter, IMHO. They can do chocolate, regardless to sex, race or taste buds.

Nana korobi, ya oki. (Fall down seven times, stand up eight.) ~Yuzuru Hanyu/Japanese proverb

I have got the bestest secret santa in the whole wide world!! There was a little peach slip in my mail box last week saying I had a package waiting for me at the post office. I kept putting off picking it up for various really stupid reasons (even stupider once I got home and opened it), but today I swung by the PO and as soon as I got home I tore right into it.

Eeeee! I can haz sour cherry vodka! This totally yummy stuff that Brenda fed me when I went down to visit a few weeks ago that she made herself. I almost don't want to drink it, because it is so delicious and eventually it will be gone and I won't have more. But...it's so good! I will drink it out of a thimble.

And, I got cherry candies (my love of cherries knows no bounds), key lime cookies, cheese cookies, a gift card for Starbuck's (my coffee budget will love you forever), and a bar of sea vegetable soap from Lush. Everything is so yummy tasting and smelling!

Thank you, Brenda!! You're the bestest.
