I know this isn't exactly the right place for it, but I just have to say that megan walker is a gift giving NINJA. Drew and I arrived tonight at our favorite little getaway, a tiny boutique hotel/spa in Desert Hot Springs, to celebrate my birthday and our first Valentines as a married couple. A little back story--the last time I was here was with the sneaky megan walker just before Thanksgiving. She and I used this as our base as we explored Joshua Tree and the surrounding area. Anyway, when we were here, I went on at great lengths about the amazingly soft sheets they use--sheets from a tiny company that only sells to hotels and inns--and bemoaned having to return to my own, sadly deficient, sheets when we left. Well we walked into our inn room tonight, and guess what is sitting next to the bed? Our very own set of sheets with a card from mw! She arranged to have the owners buy us a set and leave them--along with the card I assume she must have mailed ahead of time--in our room as a wedding present.

Gift. Giving. Ninja!

Thank you, mw! I made a squeeing sound and jumped up and down when I realized what they were and who they were from. You are the best!

ETA: Sadly, although I should be in a spa of my own in Hot Springs National Park, Texas snows mean that I am here in San Francisco.

Yay for amazingly awesome gifts! That turned out to be perfect timing.

And for the record, i do not believe "white chocolate" has any business calling itself chocolate of any kind, being as there is zero cocoa solids in it. Bleargh. My father likes the stuff. I find the chicken fat metaphor to be apt...even the good stuff just tastes like sweet oily wax to me. Worked out well when i used to live near home as my dad like the stuff. I like dark and my mom like milk chocolate, so we never fought over mixed boxes.

White chocolate has cocoa butter in it. Why the hate?
