Happy Valentine's Day.
I used to be a hater. But, now...well, I must indulge in a bit of boasting.
I have never been...*good*...at Valentine's Day. I always forgot, or ignored it, or, frankly, blew it off. But this year...
...Friday, Aims got home from work to find: 7 roses (one for each year we'd been married), Emeline packed and ready to spend the night with her Uncle Dustin, and me in a suit. We had reservations for a nice restaurant and a reserved room at the (fairly swanky, really) Mariott.
The funny part is, she'd just been complaining to her co-workers how lousy I was at Valentine's Day; how I never remembered, or did anything, or blew it off.
But the best part wasn't showing her up. The best part was the expression on her face when the plan was finally laid bare.
So, this is to Aims, posted here publicly and eternally (because silicon never dies): It was my pleasure. I love you, and cherish you, and I will work even harder to overtly show you this. It may not always be grand gestures such as this, but there *will* be the (more) occasional grand gesture. This I promise.
Because, though I know you know I love you...it makes us both better when I do something extraordinary to show it.
I love you, Aims. Happy Valentine's Day.
Awww, so sweet.
Happy Valentine's Day to all who enjoy it. . . and a Happy Year of the Tiger to everyone too.
MM, you are a most excellent husband. But we already knew that.
Yay year of the Tiger! (our team is the Tigers)
I am a V-Day hater, but I can't begrudge any genuine gesture of affection between people in love. Any excuse for that is good in my book. The more the merrier!
MM, you rock!
TCG and I celebrated Valentine's Day yesterday because we have to spend today with my family at a 50th anniversary for my aunt and uncle. We went to a movie and a nice restaurant(which will hopefully not be shut down by our curse) then came home and exchanged gifts.
MM just made me get teary AGAIN, the bastard!
MM, you rock like an expensive Amish-made rocking chair with Keith Richards in it.
My lower-key V-Day is involving The Boy making pumpkin waffles in the kitchen for me right now. Noms.
I never considered this a religious holiday, so it doesn't bother me that it allegedly is one. I'm all about the waffles.
Happy Year of the Tiger to everyone too.
Tiger YAY!
Just lovely, MM.
We ate not giving any gifts this year, as all our money is going to the front yard. Plus poor DH is sick, so our big plan for the day is going to Lowe's to buy a lounge chair for the backyard for my mom's visit next week.
MM just made me get teary AGAIN, the bastard!
He
likes
making us cry!
I got a V-Day card from my XBF. It's a Happy Year of the Tiger card, really, but he wrote Happy V Day inside, and it's so pretty I have it displayed on my bookshelf. He also drew a little caricature of himself, his boyfriend, and their yappy little dog. It's adorable.
