Spike's Bitches 45: That sure as hell wasn't in the brochure.

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

"And that's why God Almighty gave us fire insurance and the public defender".

The advantage of being the Red Queen is being able to shout "off with their heads" a lot.

Something I do a lot, as is.

Yalla feyn?

Le'iena turidu.

I'm sure part of the problem is, a) Shy and have no clue about how to start a relationship. Friendship, sure, relationship, NSM. b) When not working, I tend to be a hermit, as I value my quiet alone time.

Look at your tagline. Thank you. That is all.

That said, it's looking like I may have a date on Saturday.

Yay!

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

3 - have not had driver's license revoked

Is "suspended" OK?

Speaking of lack of dates: I missed a perfect opportunity to start something with someone. Went out from a celebratory dinner in a restaurant with family, so it wasn't the place to get picked out at.

But, glances met with smiles, and by the time I realized that I have no idea who this guy is and it's not a I'm-supposed-to-know-you case, it still didn't bother me to keep smiling and looking at his eyes.

Awesome.

I don't think I thought I was especially a catch, but I never dated after college on account of being married. Had I not gotten married--nearly the case--then I probably would have started getting the ego going once I got my career on track.

Leif is already convinced that all the girls like him, but he's convinced that he's awesome at everything.

On a funny note, apparently the next time they have outside recess he's going to race a girl that challenged him. I don't know how that's going to end up, he plays soccer so he's done a bunch of running, but she might do just as much. Also, he skipped a grade so he's smaller than everyone else. I'm pretty sure he'll still think he's awesome if he loses.

Love is stronger than death and harder than sorrow. Those who practice it are fierce like the light of stars traveling eons to pierce the night.

How does a Negative Alice behaves? I'm curious.

Well, you know how Alice says "curiouser and curiouser"? I think the opposite of that would be "bored now"? So yeah, I'm thinking this could be Vampire!Alice.

the cat is being tortured, because I am not feeding him

Muahahahah! Excellent! You have your revenge for all the ways he has tortured you. Yeah, I know. It sucks mightily to have to deny our furry overlords their due luxuries and comforts.

Is "suspended" OK?

We have all screwed up a time or two, or a dozen, whatever. It's not the fact that a person messes up that shows what their character is, but what they do to fix the messes they make. smonster's crappy date guy doesn't clean up his messes, he makes bigger messes - not so much in hopes that you won't notice how bad the first mess was but because he just doesn't care.

What the hell was I thinking?

That reminds me that I need to do the PTA newsletter pretty soon. I sometimes wonder why I volunteered for that.

I don't think I thought I was especially a catch

It's still unbelievable to me and a work in progress to convince myself that someone sane and cute will look at me, seriously, in that way. Not so much in a "I dismiss myself and not worthy" (or at least, I think, on the surface), but in a "what? we're not joking? shit, where's the nearest shelter" way.

It's almost as I know I'm sort of a catch, but not necessarily that catch.

Does that make sense? Because I'm post-alcohol here, people.

"We're all stories, in the end. Just make it a good one, eh?"

Does that make sense? Because I'm post-alcohol here, people.

Heh.

And, totally (in answer to the 'sense-making' question).

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

smonster's crappy date guy doesn't clean up his messes, he makes bigger messes - not so much in hopes that you won't notice how bad the first mess was but because he just doesn't care.

That and the fact that there didn't seem to be anything offsetting his laundry list of red flags. So let me also add:

4 - not boring!
