What'd you all order a dead guy for?

Spike's Bitches 45: That sure as hell wasn't in the brochure.

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

Zen, I don't think he did either. In his dillusion she was also religious and modest. The one thing I was disappointed with was that the baby wasn't born during the film.

"Cry havoc and let slip the boobs of war!" -- Miracleman

I love watching old British TV, you see a lot of now famous people. This week's episode of Inspector Morse featured Elisabeth Hurley, Julia Swahala (Saffy from Absolutely Fabulous), and Philip Bretherton (Alistair from As Time Goes By).

Greece's financial crisis threatens to take down all of Western civilization - a civilization they themselves founded. A rather tragic irony - which is something they also invented. - Jon Stewart

I was wearing no metal beyond minimal jewelry and an underwire. Why did I trip the security? I mean, went fine when I redid it but, yo, that machine was sensitive.

Cass! I know this one!

When I was on jury duty for three weeks in lower Manhattan I walked through the same metal detector every day. Sometimes my underwire set off the alarm, some times it did not. According to the security officers it was a matter of temperature.

“Not dead yet!”

Yesterday we drove into Canada to White Rock to look back at Blaine. White Rock is a gorgeous little resort town full of shops and restaurants and houses carved and terraced onto the hills down to the shore.

See, that sounds lovely and like my kind of exploring.

Poor Lewis, though, he hates just aimlessly going with no destination in mind--he wants to know he's going somewhere to do something. I suggested we drive to Edmonds and he was like, "Why?"

I thought it sounded like a grand idea because it's only twenty minutes away and the weather was lovely and I wanted to poke around and see what we could discover. I'll eventually get him to go, just aimlessly, and he'll enjoy it, just sometimes, it takes a little shove. Maybe a kick.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Emmett only knows British actors from Harry Potter movies.

Zmayhemi are back from megan walker's where we hung out with Sean.

I made them watch French rock and roll movies and videos from the sixties, which flabbergasted and fascinated and boggled megan and Sean in equal measure.

Matilda climbed over everything while we snacked on a lovely indoor picnic of baguette and cheese and salami and olives and hummus. She conked out and we played the game Ticket to Ride which was much fun. The last time we had played it was with Scola, so we spoke of his skill as a railroad baron.

We had to rouse Matilda from her nap to get Sean back to his dad's house. They're going to see Teatro Zinzanni tonight. Matilda had to use the loo so we got a look see inside - fancy house! Really beautiful, with a view of the GG Bridge.

You need a Snipe Hunt to get him out the door. "I'm trying to find an antique store I heard about between here and Edmonds. I don't know its name so I can't look it up, but it has a rusty plow in the front yard."

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

Sometimes my underwire set off the alarm, some times it did not. According to the security officers it was a matter of temperature.

Wait, what? I need more information on this. Warmer or cooler sets them off? You never know when you'll have to sneak your, uhm, underwires through security.

Ha! I might just try that, although he may not buy it from me. "You ALWAYS know where you're going..."

Perhaps if I just bribe him with brownies...

Speaking of food, tonight's dinner was fairly divine. Peppered beef tenderloin seared, then finished off in the oven with onions, carrots, and rosemary from my own garden! OMG... I need to see what else I can plant in there and not kill. Also, identify what else is currently growing in there.

Our wings are not tired.

Barb, whole family scavenger hunt Bingo. Each of you think of 5 things you want to "find" (can be common or not). Place everyone's items in rows/columns of 5 in various orders (on different cards). Head out. Cover your "items" as you find them - first with 5 in a row wins!

I just made that up. Sometimes being a camp counselor for all of those years really does pay off.

Barb, that sounds yummy! We had roasted vegetable over quinoa with a salad and red wine.
