Book: I believe I just... I think I'm on the wrong ship. Inara: Maybe. Or maybe you're exactly where you ought to be.

Spike's Bitches 45: That sure as hell wasn't in the brochure.

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

this mess was yours / now your mess is mine

Also, the dalmatian prognosis is rather hopeful. The vet didn't see any signs of neurological damage or a stroke or anything like that.

The backstory that *I* didn't know is that when The Boy let the dogs out the back door Friday, the dalmatian took a flying leap from the porch to the ground, bypassing the 3 steps. She often does this, to our chagrin, but she always lands normally. Until Friday. When she landed, apparently she sprawled and face-planted. I didn't know that until we were at the vet's.

Anyway, the vet examined her really thoroughly, and thinks that her problems were from the leap-and-sprawl, like if a human was mountain-biking and wiped out hard.

So she got a cortisone shot in her ass, and we have 10 days' worth of antiinflammatories to give her, and hopefully it'll resolve.

The vet also thinks she's got some doggie dementia, and we need to decide if we want to put her on drugs for that.

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

Aww, doggie. I`m glad it`s a good prognosis.

We won’t stop until everyone is gay.

I hope the doggie makes a swift recovery.

Sometimes I think I might just move up to Vermont, open a bookstore or a vegan restaurant. Adam Schlesinger, z''l

I'm glancing at craigslist for the various places that have shown some interest in hiring me. (Still no offers, but there are a few places that have at least wanted to talk to me some more.) Just about all of those places, there are 2-bedroom apartments renting for less than what I'm paying now for a studio. One place, there's a three-bedroom house with a pool for about what I'm paying now.

Oh, and then there's this one, which comes with a discount at Sonic Burgers. [link]

brillig

I'm a great-aunt again! Welcome, little Mason! I don't know if there will be pictures, but I think my sister the proud Grandma will make some available.

My sister is 53, it's a perfectly reasonable age at which to be a grandmother, but thinking of myself as a great-aunt makes me think I should be a tiny little thing with white hair perched delicately in a chair, the way I remember my great-aunts. Of course, they were in their 70s at the time, but the brain is an odd place.

Hm, maybe she shouldn't go to the next F2F.

Now let us crush something soft and watch it fountain blood. That is a girlish thing to want to do, yes?

Hm, maybe she shouldn't go to the next F2F.

I think she has to -- the alternative is to argue with a highly devious Overlord Junior Grade that there's such a thing as too much candy.
