I had my glucose tolerance test today (yay pregnancy) and now I feel like I was hit by a truck. This right here is why I don't drink soda or juice! Bah.
Ick! That stuff is so nasty (I'm not a soda drinker either). Here's to no gestational diabetes!
[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

I had to keep reminding myself that if I threw it up, they'd just make me come back and drink more. But I also don't have anything resembling a sweet tooth (when I indulge myself with junk food, I always go for salt), so the whole sugar crash thing is doubly unpleasant.
I'm supposed to be attending an informational meeting tonight about a new charter school in our neighborhood (which sounds COMPLETELY AWESOMECAKES WITH AWESOME SAUCE - it's in association with the parks dept and the botanical gardens and has an environmental science focus and is IN OUR DISTRICT), but I think I'll make DH go instead so I can fall asleep early.
Cricket is at that OMGTOOMANYTHREADSANDCONVERSATIONS stage of Buffistadom. I keep telling her just to start in one thread until she gets used to it. She's awesome with awesome on top, much like Jessica's possible new charter school. (See how I did that?)
I am at a new ob/gyn's office. Which is not awesome, but is neccesary.
That new charter school does sound awesome.
I've been meaning to return something, and just realized that if I don't do it today, I can't return it. Is it worth a 40 minute round trip for $10? especially since I would probably spend the $10 on dinner since I took the 40 minutes?
Oh, I also found out something today that will shock Teppy to the core - DH applied for a writing gig with SparkNotes and found out on their writing test that they explicitly forbid the use of semicolons in their plot summaries!
THE HELL?!?
Also, Jess, do you have a link to your vegetarian Skyline recipe?
Wayback Machine to the rescue - veggie Skyline.
Also, the dalmatian prognosis is rather hopeful. The vet didn't see any signs of neurological damage or a stroke or anything like that.
The backstory that *I* didn't know is that when The Boy let the dogs out the back door Friday, the dalmatian took a flying leap from the porch to the ground, bypassing the 3 steps. She often does this, to our chagrin, but she always lands normally. Until Friday. When she landed, apparently she sprawled and face-planted. I didn't know that until we were at the vet's.
Anyway, the vet examined her really thoroughly, and thinks that her problems were from the leap-and-sprawl, like if a human was mountain-biking and wiped out hard.
So she got a cortisone shot in her ass, and we have 10 days' worth of antiinflammatories to give her, and hopefully it'll resolve.
The vet also thinks she's got some doggie dementia, and we need to decide if we want to put her on drugs for that.
Jess, excellent! Thanks!
Aww, doggie. I`m glad it`s a good prognosis.
