Spike's Bitches 45: That sure as hell wasn't in the brochure.
[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.
Teppy, I'm so sorry to hear the doggy's not well. I hope she'll be OK.
Yes, I'm very excited about being confirmed! A bit sad that I don't really have any Christian friends who can come with me, or pray with me about it, or similar. But my family (mostly not Christians) are being adorable and have travelled many miles to come along today. They can sit there bemused. I'm hoping the hearing aid 'loops' work for my dad and not-stepmother. And that I remember when to go up to the bishop. And that I don't fall over. OK.
I've heard good things about these: [link]
I remember Kat mentioning boots for her dog -- MuttLuks, I think. And *both* dogs do the flail-skitter thing if they get excited and decide to tear-ass run through the house, which makes me laugh and tell them they need MuttLuks. But those rubber booties might help the dalmatian stay on her feet.
She *hates* -- HAAAAAAAATES -- us touching her feet, though, so getting them on her might be a YouTube classic. Still -- if those can give her some traction to stay up, that woukd be good.
Congratulations, Seska.
They're coming because they love you, it's certainly in the spirit of the event.

It's true! They are fantastic people.

That's what we're hoping for here too. Dallas has always resisted clothing of any sort, I'm hoping the traction wins her over quickly.

That's what we're hoping for here too.
The Web site's photo gallery shows a pit bull (among others) wearing them, so I turned the laptop around and showed the dogs and said, "If THAT dog will wear these, then YOU GUYS can wear these!"
They seem dubious. But it's hard to tell with them. Possibly they were just hoping I'd shut up, close the Glowing White Box, and let them sleep. After all, it *is* -- egad! -- 3 a.m.
Seska, honey, good luck and I wish you well through your Confirmation.
Steph, Dog~ma to you and the Boy.
As for me, it's time to face Intro to Quantitative Research Methods final. Easy, yet tricky at times. Mostly yicks! too.
Seska, have a blessed Confirmation day!
Teppy, much ~ma for the doggy.
Good luck on the final, Shir.
Poor dog. I hope the footie things will help.
Happy confirmation, Seska!
The sun's out here today, but it's cold enough that it's not going to melt much snow. I'm looking forward to wandering around in the sparkly stuff today.
Teppy - I don't know if dalmatians are as susceptible to this as beagles, but it sounds like what Ollie went through...a slipped disc.
If so, there's good news: it's easily treatable. We had to keep Ollie somewhat isolated so he wouldn't jump on stuff and exacerbate it, but some rest and fairly cheap steroids prescribed by the vet, and he's just fine now. Back to jumping, frolicing, and his usual energetic idiocy.
Our vet was very cool; he diagnosed it and said "Now, I'm 98% sure this is what it is. If you want to be really really sure, I can recommend a veterinary neurologist who will give him a $2000 MRI, and he would go on to recommend a neurosurgeon who could fix it for another $3000...or, you could pay $50 for the pills, keep him quiet (good luck) and see how he does in five days. Your call."
We went cheap and it worked out fine.
