Willow: Yes. Hi. You must be Angel's handsome, yet androgynous, son. Connor: It's Connor. Willow: And the sneer's genetic. Who knew?

'A Hole in the World'

Spike's Bitches 45: That sure as hell wasn't in the brochure.

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Love is stronger than death and harder than sorrow. Those who practice it are fierce like the light of stars traveling eons to pierce the night.

Seska, have a blessed Confirmation day!

Teppy, much ~ma for the doggy.

Good luck on the final, Shir.

I must obey the inscrutable exhortations of my soul—Calvin and Hobbs

Poor dog. I hope the footie things will help.

Happy confirmation, Seska!

The sun's out here today, but it's cold enough that it's not going to melt much snow. I'm looking forward to wandering around in the sparkly stuff today.

No, I don't think I will - me, quoting Captain Steve Rogers, to all of 2020

Teppy - I don't know if dalmatians are as susceptible to this as beagles, but it sounds like what Ollie went through...a slipped disc.

If so, there's good news: it's easily treatable. We had to keep Ollie somewhat isolated so he wouldn't jump on stuff and exacerbate it, but some rest and fairly cheap steroids prescribed by the vet, and he's just fine now. Back to jumping, frolicing, and his usual energetic idiocy.

Our vet was very cool; he diagnosed it and said "Now, I'm 98% sure this is what it is. If you want to be really really sure, I can recommend a veterinary neurologist who will give him a $2000 MRI, and he would go on to recommend a neurosurgeon who could fix it for another $3000...or, you could pay $50 for the pills, keep him quiet (good luck) and see how he does in five days. Your call."

We went cheap and it worked out fine.

Occasionally I’m callous and strange

smonster: per vet instructions i sometimes give my little guy canned pumpkin mixed in with wet food for kitty constipation. like a spoonful mixed in with a regular serving of food, plus a little extra water.

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

Seska, happy Confirmation day! May everything go smoothly. It's wonderful that your family is there for you, too.

Teppy, doggy~ma to your dalmation.

Shir, kick booty on your final!

Sun shining, ~8 inches of snow not melting. I long for spring.

Teppy, tons of dog-ma.

"We're all stories, in the end. Just make it a good one, eh?"

Thanks, all, for the lovely wishes! It was a great service. I managed not to get anything horribly wrong, and they had put a chair at the back of the church for me (so I didn't have to do all of the process-ing around church). My hair is full of oil and my clothes caught wax from my confirmation candle. (The Girl made up a joke and laughed at it all the way home. "How do you get confirmation candle wax out of your clothes? With holy spirit." Ha. Ha. Ha.) But at least I did not set myself on fire, mostly thanks to my friend's mother, who was assigned to look after me and carry my candle while we processed around church. I was given a new testament and a beautiful rosary by the clergy of my church. Then we went out for a Sunday roast and chocolate fudge cake. It was all very nice indeed and now I have sent all the parents away and I need sleep.
