River: You're not right, Early. You're not righteous. You've got issues. Early: No. Oh, yes, I could have that. You might have me figured out, then. Good job. I'm not 100%.

'Objects In Space'

Spike's Bitches 45: That sure as hell wasn't in the brochure.

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

I must obey the inscrutable exhortations of my soul—Calvin and Hobbs

You must be super quiet and take up very little space.

True. That's why I haven't been pitching in on the rent.

At least 95% keep saying that teachers make more money than private sector

Yeah. Right. I'm working in a registered non-profit, at the sub-managerial ranks, and I'm making way more than I would as a K-12 teacher.

Principals might break into the six-figure salary ranks, but they're also managing dozens—sometimes hundreds—of employees, a role which usually brings a nice chunk of change in the private sector. College professors can make decent money, but they're also usually teachers and income generators. Hard science profs especially bring a ton of funding to their institutions. If a division of a private industry institution landed a $17.5 million grant, I imagine the leader of that division would do fairly well. So if Professor Thomas Meyer pulls in $143,000 I think UNC and NC's tax payers are getting pretty good value for their money.

ETA: I'm so sorry, Daisy.

Life moves pretty fast. You don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.

Okay, I have bitten my nails down to sad little stumps and I want them to look presentable when we get videotaped on Monday for our Hammer Heads interview. I like them short--just to my fingertips--and I just basically want them to look like normal nails, nothing fancy. I had acrylics once before and they were okay but the tech really wanted to make them longer than I wanted. I have no idea what the difference between silk wrap or gel or acrylic is. What should I ask for when I make my reservation?

Always Anti-fascist!

I used to more often, but I've been behind with Jon and Stephen lately.I can see both sides of that, not surprisingly. Because it's all SO upsetting, and Democrats/leftists spent so much time being the reasonable rational ones that got our butts kicked(and Keith remembers the eighties better than I do, naturally) and that, combined with KO's fairly operatic temperament(despite the preppie exterior) creates the drama. But it's not just that, because that's not really who I am, yet for ten dollars, I'd grab a Obama "defector" by the collar and yell "Don't you know how stupid you were being?" myself. Although Jon would be right to give me a hard time if I did that, but I really don't get the calculus for the non-tb minded Brown voter...you want more, so vote for the guy who promises you'll get less if he gets what he wants. What?!

Days shrink and grow cold, sunlight through leaves is my song. Winter is long.

Daisy, my god, I'm so sorry. All possible peace and strength to his family.
