teachers make more money than private sector
What? People say that? Weird.
Happy birthday, Windsparrow!

Happy birthday, Windsparrow!
wooot! i found a restaurant upstairs. Took way too much walking to get to and not really nap-amenable but it does at least provide a comfy place to sit with incandescent lights and access to food, water, and coffee brought to me. Finally. Baileys and coffee, yummers. Maybe i won't take a nap today after all!
erin, I thought for a moment you had discovered a restaurant in your attic. And I was very jealous.
Kristin- i ruled out teaching as a viable career option long ago. My mom loves what she does but seriously brought work home with her EVERY night and weekends. I think there were months of my childhood when i just never saw her because she had to leave for work before i got up and then would have to stay late for parent meetings and syllabus planning until after my bedtime. It would take over all of my life and i can't see letting that happen. Two thumbs up to everyone who does have the endurance and will to educate the next generation.
If there were a restaruant in my attic i would totally install a ladder up there.
Thanks for the birthday wishes!
Barb, I have a serious envy for your love for your house.
I had a dream last night that I was installing hardwood floors. Apparently I stole Nora's dream.
Re: limerance -- I always understood it to be how the original researcher coined it [link] "Limerance is that period of passionate, intense infatuation with another person."
Or Urban Dictionary's definition: [link]
I don't know where they get that "lack of trust" business. That's somebody else's agenda.
apparently, that's also the definition.
And yet, not the whole definition.
At least 95% keep saying that teachers make more money than private sector
So ridiculous. People who criticise teachers have never tried to work as one.
I just got a phone call.
Our friend's teenage son died last night. He was car surfing, got knocked/fell out of the car and the car behind ran over him.
The whole thing is a mess. Trying really hard not to cry at my desk.
My friend and his wife (kid's stepmom and mother to his 2 half brothers) had trouble with this kid for a long time, so there's that going on. I know he'd kinda cut him loose lately. It's hard to imagine that's the same sweetfaced 12 year old I met years ago. Or was.
Yep. I think I'm going to go to the bathroom and have a cry.
