Spike's Bitches 45: That sure as hell wasn't in the brochure.

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

“Not dead yet!”

Happy, happy birthday, Andi!

And yay for blissed out new happy romance type feelings, smonster.

Am I suffering limerance for how I feel about my new home? I mean, seriously-- I feel like the giddiest of teenagers, wandering around the house and muttering, "Mine... all mine... sooo pretty and mine."

This was the view from my backyard this morning: [link]

A less happy-making view was this: [link]

Never want to see that again. Discovered, however, upon driving my car for the first time in two weeks, that it was pulling funny-- took it to the local dealer and they informed me that the tires were shredded and the alignment whacked. Partially because of the extremes in temperatures we experienced the last couple of months in Florida and partially because the misogynistic, "oh we don't need to explain this complicated tire stuff to the little lady" dipwads at the dealer in Florida, never bothered explaining that my performance tires required that I check tire pressure a little more frequently than in a car with regular tires.

Four new tires later... *sigh* Ah well, at least I'm not going to blow out on the 405. This is reassuring.

Oh, and adding to askye, days off are not a bad thing if you, you know, actually NEED THEM.

And honey, as has been pointed out by the Very Smart People around here, you need them. Be good to yourself.

No, because you've actually attained your house.

I’m responsible for my own happiness? I can’t even be responsible for my own breakfast! (Bojack Horseman)

Just got off the phone with the Home Depot floor installing subcontractors. Since we have a wildly uneven (and frickin' OLD) floor, we thought our (original, self-guided) BS internet quote of $2K was going to be doubled or tripled, but it's only about $3K. Is that crazy for installing a hardwood floor? It's a small room, but it has many challenges. Does anyone have any experience with Home Depot installations?

We won’t stop until everyone is gay.

well... i might have gone to wikipedia for that definition. still, it's not contradicted by the other things I'm finding.

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

Hardwood floor is pretty pricey. We paid more than that for our kitchen and half-bathroom. Didn't use Home Depot, though, so I can't help with that.

What's the current flooring? If you're planning to sell and move in as reasonable a time as you can, then you may be better off getting a professional in to look at the possibility of refinishing.

I have not heard much good about Home Depot installations.

Current flooring is nasty-ass carpeting over ancient vinyl over pine plank subfloor.

I’d be lying if I didn’t say that I miss them all tonight…

It has the same problem as all UD lipsticks - it slides off at the slightest opportunity (much like my knickers... what?).

Oh, good, I didn't have to say it.

That's why I said it, to spare you the trouble!

Happy Birthday, Andi!

Is that crazy for installing a hardwood floor?

It is not, and I will echo what every one else is saying about going to a pro.

So charmingly non-fixable, then! Gotcha.
