I like pancakes 'cause they're stackable. Ooo, and waffles 'cause you can put things in the little holes if you wanted to.

Spike's Bitches 45: That sure as hell wasn't in the brochure.

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

this mess was yours / now your mess is mine

Hey Tep, looks like the Reds just dropped $30mil on a lefty pitcher, the Cuban defector Aroldis Chapman. He throws about 97mph.

Hmmm. Sounds promising.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Hmmm. Sounds promising.

He was a stud in the World Baseball Classic last spring, so he should be able to handle the majors.

Also, it's a five year deal so it's not even that expensive. Could be a good pickup.

That's the pain / That cuts a straight line down through the heart / We call it love

Hello Bitches! I now have a job that makes it much easier to read b.org during the day, so I finally have time to read (and perhaps even participate in) this thread again. Woo!

Actually, I've been lurking here for a little while, but I have to admit it's Erin's wedding planning that has brought me out of the woodwork. I've just started planning my wedding (we're also getting married in September), and good lord, there's a lot to think about! All I really know right now is that we want to get married on our friends' farm, and I want to wear a red-and-gold dress.

Anyway: hi everyone!

Punishingly Intricate

Kate P., do you know about offbeat bride? [link]

They have loads of great ideas for other than traditional (whatever that means) weddings.

Erin, did you see their post about having your gown custom made? [link]

My dress lady is a costume designer and she and her partner worked at one of the big theaters here for years. Contacting the costume departments at local theaters and colleges might be a way to find someone who could make your (awesome sounding) dress. Heck, if you could come to b'more a couple of times for fittings my ladies would be perfect for making your dress! They do custom corsetry!

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Buffista weddings galore! Hey Kate! Hey lisah!

Not too shabby 2010. Now give everybody (including me) more work. For those that have work: better bosses. For those with good bosses: status quo and bonuses!

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Kate, did you know there's a blog for red wedding dresses?

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

In other exciting news: Today was the first dropoff at Matilda's new preschool that had no tears or drama. No tears! I repeat, No tears!

Coding and Sleeping

Excellent!

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Excellent!

I win this morning's Achievement in Excellence in Tearlessness.

It may be difficult to replicate, though. I went late enough that Matilda's favorite teacher, Haidie was there to hold her.

But when I ran down the hill to wave up at the window Matilda was there waiting to see me, and she didn't make cryface when I blew her kisses. And Shivam and Gabriella were both pointing at me and saying, "You're a crunchy monkey!"
